Patriots Aqib Talib Suffers Injury During Win Over Texans
By: Ian Logue

The Patriots may have taken care of business Monday night with a 42-14 win over the Texans, but it definitely didn't come easy for one of their top corners....

It was encouraging that he was still on the sideline, and according to one report 'jogging' as if testing out the injury in the fourth quarter.

He came down really hard on that play; wouldn't be surprised if it were a hip pointer or something like that.

He was definitely doing some short sprints back and forth on the sideline - kind of stretching it and working it out. He didn't appear to be wincing or in pain. I noticed this late in the third quarter (maybe early fourth) when the TV camera was on BB/the Patriot sideline. Talib could be seen in the background doing this routine.....

Thank GOD. We don't need anymore injuries. I wonder if Aqib could've returned last night. The medical staff probably didn't want to risk anything with the score being what it was.

He had a previous injury in Tampa with his hip. Hopefully he didn't flare anything up.

I'm pretty sure they were being extra cautious with him.

I noticed him laughing a smiling on the sideline - not the look of a man with a serious injury.

If the Texans had mounted any type of comeback I think they would have had him back on the field.

He seemed fine walking off. Slight limp but slapping his hands as if he was not happy about dropping the pick.

I didn't catch the end of the game (well not yet). Did Arrington get injured by Francis? It looked like Arrington's leg got stuck in the ground as francis jumped over the pile and rolled against arrington.

And for Arrington, he actually made some impactful plays last night.

I notice that he was injured after going to the ground hard on his hip. My nine year old isn't a world-class athlete like Talib, but he recently had a trauma to his shoulder as the result of a hard fall (actually of being taken down by his brother who thought he'd demonstrate a Tae Kwon Do move in our living room...talk about earning a "time out"...but that's another matter); X-rays were negative, but it was very painful and he couldn't even rotate his arm for a couple of hours. However, it was "only" a bad muscle bruise and later in the evening the mobility and feeling returned and he was fine the next day.

Hopefully, this is something analogous.

I think it was one of those situation where we were up by 21 points and they just shut him down for the night....He was in alot of pain after the play..you could hear him scream and cuss...but after all was said and done...ya..he was on the sideline..road the bike for a bit..jogged and stretched. We need this guy..he has seemed to put a bit of "Veteran" into the secondary...

We DO, and he HAS helped the defense, but it was also encouraging that the defense didn't seem to lose a beat when Talib went out.

A hip pointer is a tendon issue - he probably just bruised his hip when he landed so hard. Like Chop said, hopefully they just shut him down with the big lead and we will see him against SF. Dennard, on the other hand, hopefully that hammy is OK.

Don't worry I'm sure that BB will come out in his next press conference and gives us a complete analysis of the injury, how long he is going to be out and maybe even show the MRI!

I hope he is OK, what a tremendous mid-season pick-up! He has solidified the secondary and allowed guys to go into roles and positions they are much better suited for. BTW the Dennard pick is starting to look like another 7th round steal!!!

Kudos to McCourtey for moving back to CB in the second half.

Dennard looked to injure his hammy again at the end of the game and Arrington limped off. Will be interesting to see who practices this week.

3 more guys for this weeks injury report. :D

The Pats will battle through. None of it looks serious at this point, thank God.

Yeah I saw that and I was cussing at Francis. Just stupid he didn't even have to jump over that pile. I think he was fine though the camera went away and was back on the field within a matter of seconds, and Arrington was off the field by then so he obviously didn't need assistance. Hopefully all 3 Talib,Dennard,Arrington are fine they are a great tandem. Could be our best CB set since '03.

The Pats maybe back to square one playing without Talib, Fonzie and Arrington. I hope that all are recovered before the playoffs. But a hamstring takes along time to heal, so Fonzie maybe out for a while. Was it the same hamstring as in preseason?

Arrington was hit hard by an over enthusiastic Justin Francis right in the gut and chest. I don't know that his injury was to his knee, but I'll bet his ribs are pretty sore, if not cracked...:(

No clue which hamstring it was, but either way it's not good especially for a DB. We will find out Wednesday by who practices and who doesn't

Well atleast McCourty can play CB if my man Dennard have to miss a few games...A Bye-week is going to be very important for this Team.
