The Friday presser is always an excellent hint as to how the previous week's practices and preparations went. Alot of us tend to watch the Friday presser with a bit more of an eye to BB's mannerisms.

Yesterday, he comes in smiling and makes a little joke. He tries mightily to defeat the grin and finally wins that battle after about 10 seconds. However, tone of voice is far less monotone than usual.

The two big 'tells"?

1) Eye contact - - he was making normal, well-adjusted human being eye contact. That usually doesn't happen much in the pressers.

2) He was in chatty football professor mode - - answers were long and full of info and strategy. The Reiss' and Bedards love it the 2-3 times per season that he does this - - they cherish those sessions like backstage passes to a Stones concert. Of course, it also came on a day where there were far fewer media members in the seats than usual (it being a Saturday, instead of a Friday).

Also, there were NO NOSE SNORTS - - you all know what I mean.

There is a direct correlation between the number of BB nose snorts to his anger/stress level.

Yesterday - - no nose snorts.

They're in great position!

Ehhhhh, the last time he was like this was the Superbowl...

If I'm not mistaken, the patriots are 9-2 in December when BB has 3 or less nose snorts in a presser the Friday before a game in which the temperature is 35 degrees F or below. Let's hope for a chilly night tomorrow.

9-1.

Officials ruled the snort during the 12/2/2011 presser actually was from media relations director Stacey James just to the side of the podium. The initial ruling on the podium was overturned.

You forgot to factor the belches.

Yeah.....unfortunately, that was my first thought as well. I remember actually feeling more optimistic about that game because of all the reports about how jolly he was. And maybe he WAS confident, I guess, but--well, you know.

Agree. I remember all the articles in 07 about how relaxed he / the pats were.

I think it wouldn't hurt BB if he was a little more forthcoming in interviews / pressers; but I don't read anything into the 'he was chatty therefore we're going to roll over our opponents' line of thinking

He is happy with how the PREPARATIONS have gone this week.

Victory is never a given. There are two teams on the field.

Please tell me where 'he was chatty therefore we're going to roll over our opponents' was ever written.

My first thought, as well....

Repeating what was written three posts ago:

What's so hard to understand?

Or maybe he just got laid the night before?

On second thought ... I don't really need to know.

That's what i was going to post. His interviews before the SB were supposed to convince us that we finally had NYG figured out.

He doesn't have time for that until he's happy with his preparation. Priorities!

Think of the week's preparation as "foreplay". :D
