I hear alot of people saying oh if we lose one of the next 2 then it's not so bad.

Erm well yes it is because,

A) The chances of us going to the SB are HIGHER if we don't go through Houston in Houston

B) Ravens are coming again and lucked out once more by getting Ray Ray back early.

C) The chances of us getting at least a bye are slim if we lose one of the next two.

D) Please don't forget some guy named Peyton and his team have the same record as us and i don't really fancy going to mile high at any point in time come January either.

We are going to have to be the perfect Patriots from here on out, there is a bit less pressure on the Texans because of that cushion but not for us Ravens or the Broncos so we are going to see just how mentally tough we are knowing what i just presented and the team will know.

So what you're saying is that to be considered the best team in the NFL, we need to avoid all those other teams that might be considered the best?

Who said avoiding? Make it easier by playing in Foxborough. Clearly you misunderstood or misread what i wrote. I do know you have to play the best to get the ring.

Yup. I was a bit quick off the mark there. However, I still don't agree with you I'm afraid. We play who and where as is necessary. In fact, the harder the games the better our competitive edge come SB time. Bring it on I say.

Boncos have the easiest remaining schedule – no doubt about it.

Ravens have a pretty tough remaining schedule (Skins, Giants, Broncos) – I expect them to be out of first two spots from now on. Most likely end up @ #4.

Texans remaining schedule is so-so, and I can see them dropping one to the Pats and the Colts on the road. At which point we get the #1 (all else equal).

Really, the only team that scares me right now are the Broncos. With Payton at the helm, and with a cakewalk remaining schedule, I don’t see how they don’t go 4-0 to finsih at 13-3. If we win the rest of our matches, we are golden (having won the tie-breaker against the Denver, and (if) defeated the Texans). I think we’re playing for the second seed at WORST. Any seed lower than that, and the road to the Superbowl has just gotten that much tougher.

Exactly my point.

Wrong because last post season we had a bye, a nice easy win over Teblow, a tough Ravens victory in the AFC championship but that match would have been tough facing whoever because it's the AFC title game then finally a dropped pass from winning the SB.

Making it easier on yourself is just as good as going the long haul. We outplayed the Giants but a few mistakes and lady luck won it for them because i wouldn't want what they had to play to get to the last game.

We CANNOT not move this thread to the PS.

we can go 3-1.

just beat Houston.

Lets not kill our remaining healthy players to get the bye.

Do I want us to lose any of our remaining games? No. Do I want us to go on the road to Houston, Baltimore or Denver? No.

But CANNOT? Way to strong. We're in the playoffs. We're the AFC East champs, and the #4 seed at worst. We can lose ALL FOUR games and still be in the playoffs and the AFC East champs, and still win the Super Bowl. Get healthy, and there's no one we can't match up with, anywhere.

It depends.

History does not show a lot of #1 seeds advancing to the SB.

B) Ravens are coming again and lucked out once more by getting Ray Ray back early.
Have you seen Lewis play when healthy this year? A less than 100% Ray Lewis on the field may be better for the opponent than the Ravens.

C) The chances of us getting at least a bye are slim if we lose one of the next two.
Byes and going to the SB are not as necessary as you think.
D) Please don't forget some guy named Peyton and his team have the same record as us and i don't really fancy going to mile high at any point in time come January either.
I know some guy named Peyton that is 9-10 in the post-season. Are they related?

Mentally tough teams lose games too. If we run the table, does that mean Houston and SF are not mentally tough?
The team does not consider what you just presented.
They play one game at a time. They do not think one loss has mystical meaning. Win or lose, they prepare to play whoever is next.

Those things have nothing to do with each other, unless you are suggesting we tell football players not to play because its so hard to go out there and not get injured so we'd rather have you sit for awhile and come back and play out of sync in a bigger game.

We just want One of those Bye-Weeks I will take a BB and TB lead Team against anybody in the AFC-Championship Game.

Well, unfortunately, the Pats are probably going to have to put on their big boy pads and win at least one and maybe two tough road games in the Playoffs this year. What? We don't think we can do what the Giants did in 08 and 12?

Don't get me wrong, I believe in this team and I also think they can go undefeated, but I don't think we "CANNOT" lose from hereon out and not bring home the bling.

Of all the road scenarios, the only one that I would really, really, really, really like to avoid is a trip to Denver, where we've always had trouble late in the season, whereas Peyton is on the record about how much he dislikes playing in Foxboro in January.

As for Houston, we've already won an SB at Reliant, unless people have forgotten, so that more than offsets any bad Karma from Welker's ACL tear there in a meaningless game more recently.

I join a lot of people who think that our loss in Baltimore this year was a fluke with a capital F. They were, however, also just one bad kick away from beating us in our own house last year, so I don't think playing them in Foxboro is a silver bullet by any means.

I could also quite easily see Peyton taking his number four seed and turning it into a W in Reliant, which would make that particular question moot.

They've locked up their division and guaranteed at least one home playoff game. They can lose all four of their remaining games.

It's all seeding now, and that's important, but not essential.

The Broncos do have to play the Ravens in Baltimore. I wouldn't call that a cake walk. The other three games yes, cakewalk, but not the fourth. I could see the Broncos and the Ravens both finishing with at least 4 losses.

Lets hope Manning can muster up a Batch of kick-azz then! :D

I know, lame but he did it last week!

I think the most important factor of them all is that we don't have Denver end up at a higher seed than us, or else we play at Mile High.... And god knows that place hasn't been good to us in the past (and that was without Manning flying that squad).
