I feel like a broken record but: Head to head still matters in a 3 way tie.

Not if Denver goes 4-0.

Also, If Denver beats Baltimore, I think they do go 4-0. We should prob root for Baltimore in that one. If we lose to SF OR Houston, I think there could still be another 3-way tie at 12-4. Or, Baltimore could lose 2 of the others and we're at 12-4 with Denver. If Baltimore beats Denver.

Denver

at Balt
Cleveland
KC

Baltimore

Denver
NY Giants

The problem with that is head to head comes back into play as the ravens would then have beat both the pats and broncos. All three teams will have played each other so it doesn't get to conference record

Yeah, I have more confidence in Baltimore losing two than Denver losing any. If Baltimore beats Denver.

No you shouldn't. We end tied with Denver alone beat them in a tiebreaker. Tie Baltimore alone, lose tiebreaker.

In yours rooting for Baltimore if they win, Baltimore would win 3 way tiebreaker right away.

Don't pencil Houston in as #1 yet either. They have 4 playoff contending teams left on their schedule (Minny is pretty borderline, but ADP is tearing up the league at the moment, he could turn the tables for the Vikes). Going on the road to NE and IND won't be easy. They've allowed nearly 400 yards/game the last 5 games and only one of those games was against a quality team.

So...You see no value in planning for the future?

Interesting Philosophy.

Yeah, right, that's what I said.

Jeez.

Looking at three-way division tiebreakers with 4 games left in the seasons is valuable for: (1) understanding the rules, and (2) knowing what needs to happen for certain teams to end up certain places.

For purposes of saying who is "ahead" or not, it's borderline absurd. Any time a team that is "ahead" in a tie breaker can win out and lose in a tie breaker (as the Patriots could), you really have to ask yourself what the point is.

The pleasure and camaraderie of discussing our PlayOff chances with Fellow Patriots Fans, perhaps?
