Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

Poor fella can't get any shout out here in this forum, can he?

RB's have a history of getting bashed in here, so let's have a little praise for once. 1k with 4 games still to go is quite an accomplishment.

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

I wasn't expecting him to be as good as he has been and I was bummed when they let BJGE go.

Looking back it was a good move and one of the few times Belichick has proven to be a better GM than me. I guess he gets lucky every now and then.

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

Ridley is a great back and they should have run him more in the beginning of the game. He got yards to day that were barely there. He deserves the game ball in my mind.

I bet it's more than a few.

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

They kept plugging away with him and it paid off with that awesome drive at the end. And that TD run was beauty, sliding out to the opening.

Someone on Twitter said Ridley joins exclusive company among Pats RBs by gaining 1,000 after 12 games: Dillon, Martin (twice) and Jim Nance. I may have left someone out, but that's good company.

And kudos to an offensive line that all too often has been makeshift.

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

Congrats to Stevan Ridley. I hope it is the first of many more to come for him in a Pats uniform.

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

If only Ridley could catch better, I guess that's what Woodhead and Vereen are for though. Ridley should be a pro bowler this year

One of the FEW times BB has been a better GM than you? ROFL.
Thank god, it's not the forum armchair GMs who are in charge of this team.
Hindsight is 20-20.
BB may not be perfect but he's a LOT better than most GMs in the NFL, and infinitely better than this forum's armchair GMs. ;-)

Back to Ridley. Great young player. He reminds me of clock killing Dillon with that drive to finish off the Dolphins and crush their hopes and dreams of a comeback. He didn't need a full 16 games to hit the 1k mark, this kid is legit. KUDOS!

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

Ridley danced a few times at the line but he's our best back since Dillon. What's even better is that Vereen is healthy and making some big plays in big games. They ran it down Miami's throat today to close out the game and it wouldn't have been possible without the Riddler.

His dancing was due to Miami's Front 7 being incredibly stout. Holes open and close very fast against a good run D. Most of the time there were no holes and he was forced to try and take it outside against a sealed off edge. I think this game was a good lesson for him.

Relax man I'm pretty sure he was joking.

Ridley has been awesome this year, I had a great feeling about him and he has not disappointed one bit. Hopefully we utilize the threat he possesses to open up the PAP and hurt other defenses up the gut when they don't respect the run.

should have ran him more today iMO

It never fails.

No matter how many times you reread a post and think to yourself 'Surely everyone who reads this will see it is purely tongue in cheek, that it is actually a self-deprecating remark about how wrong I was about ditching BJGE for Ridley', it is still pretty much a guarantee that someone is going to take you seriously, isn't it?

I hope this game was a lesson for Mcdaniels that no matter how good the opposing teams run defense is you have to STAY COMMITTED TO THE RUN and it will eventually pay off.

this game wouldve been alot easier if they went to the run in the first half and could get brady to run some play action instead of going shotgun every play

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

Congrats to Ridley! There seem to be 3-4 plays each game where I'm sure he's been stopped for little or no gain, but then he emerges from the other side of the scrum and picks up 5 more yards. He's been a great back for the Pats this year.

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

Remember when people wanted Ingram? That Ingram pick trade got the Pats Chandler Jones and Shane Vereen.

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

Still don't know why BB didn't play him in the Super Bowl. He was better than BJGE last year despite his late season fumbles.

Re: Kudos to Ridley for going over 1,000....?

Never expected him to have as big a year he has had. What a beast. Hope he catches some eyes in the playoffs, gonna need his production.

My post was TIC also, but there are some who truly think they are better than Bill.
