Just WOW.... That organization seems to have been a little snakebit these last few years.

Incredibly tragic. I feel awful for the child left behind, his family and friends and teammates. Just awful....

The game tomorrow is of secondary importance but it will be interesting to see how the team and league reacts to this tragedy as I don't think this kind of horrific event has occured at a team facility before.

Not sure what the right thing to do is here. Maybe there isn't a wrong thing...?

No names but the KC Star is confirming that "coaches" met the player in the parking lot and witnessed the suicide. I assume they had received a warning call from the police who were on their way to the facility in search of him.

He killed himself at the Chiefs' practice facility apparently. Who else was there to see it, I wonder?

wow - poor soul. I wonder how this will effect the tone of the whole head injury case - if at all.

Non football players commit suicide daily, it should have no effect on it unless they were already looking to add fuel to it.

I feel for the baby more than anything. Belcher was obviously a tortured soul that needed help but let's not lose sight of the fact that he committed murder before he turned the gun on himself.

In all, I don't think this season could be much worse for Chiefs players. My thoughts go out to everyone involved.

Reports are that both Crennel and Pioli were there, trying to calm him down and talk him out of it.
