I am not sure if this is a repost if so sorry i looked and could not find a similar thread.
Jan 26th PVN
Samuel: was described as being played the last game in the patriots uniform and did not look or sound positive. He was just like "great place,my home, great friend " yada yada .....the usual stuff. All he said was he is going to talk to Bill and see what is going to happen but did not sound or look positive.

Graham:Wore a suit ! and for the first time in a interview he went out to say he is going to talk to the management and is going to work out something as he would love to stay here.Sounded very positive .Maybe it is the agent line , but he sounded very positive. Now i can contrast with other interviews of graham were he sounded rude /tough and mad.I think being a captian and working with brady is key. Also , brady on WEEI speaks alot about him and after dan.I see a trend where the pats keep players around who have earned brady`s trust.A little mending for deion.Even though its a business ,i am sure BB/Scott know that you got to keep brady happy.

franchise numbers :
samuel - 7.9 million - Graham - 4.4 millon.

In a pure cap prespective graham is doable and afforable.

Others:
Banta cain - Might come back but their was no interview and they just said he is a good player a 7th round pick that started every reg season game this year.
Seau - Sounded positive that he will be back for a year .They showed a few of his plays and he will be in rotation as usual and at 1 million is a steal.
Troy - Again sound like he will be back for 1 more season as he is very valued by BB/Scott/Kraft as their is always a spot for him in the roster.
Not a whisper about Heath evans - worries me.
****personal note if we win another SB next year we are going to see a few retirements.

Graham has been given a lot of respect by the team, which I think he appreciates. Also, I don't think that he would sit out if we franchised or transitioned him. The tag would be lifted when the deal was finally executed, if it can't be done by March 2. I now expect that Graham will come back (one way or the other), as will Seau. I'm less sure about Samuel, Brown, Banta-Cain and Bruschi. My suspicion is that Banta-Cain will be offered Green type money and be re-signed. bb and pioli have paid well for backups who are well able to start. Green and Hochstein are examples. Gorin is an example from the past.

Thanks for the post. Having not seen the interview, it's nice to have a recap. I really we can keep them both, however If we can only keep one I hope it's Graham. If Teddy does retire, we're going to have a serious hole to fill.

if someone gives me an idea on how get this off comcast dvr i can host it online for others. i have the sb games too , 30 minutes on the 2nd and 3rd and 196 minutes full edition of the 2001 game on my dvr. I also have the 1 hr america`s game edition of 2004 year with troy/bru/bellichick doing the commentry/interview on dvr. - Again parts of it for legal problems.

again will be a torrent.I can do not the whole PVN but parts due to legal issues ofcourse.

I disagree, I like Graham, he adds a level of toughness and a physical attitude to our offense but we have players on the roster who can play TE. Losing our #1 corner is a much bigger impact on the team. If I had to sign one it would be Samuel.

That being said I hope the Pats focus on making their front seven dominant (like 2003 & 2004). Our run defense down the stretch wasn't great, BB has stated stopping the run is always the #1 concern of a defense. With our front seven in performing at a high level (stop run, apply consistent pressure) there is less of need to have elite cornerbacks (see Superbowl 39 versus the Eagles), we had Randall Gay covering their top WR (TO) and were still effectives because of the constant pressure.

As much as I want Samuel to be signed long-term, if his price is too high and he doesn't represent value then onward and upward. The money will be used somewhere to improve the roster.

Heath Evans said ealier that money wasn't a concern with him because the Patriots "treated me right when football wasn't." Not worried.

I understand your logic, however I think we'll have an easier time with Gay and a FA/draft choice then we will without Graham. While I like Thomas, neither he nor Watson is the blocker that Graham is. Couple that with his spead, he gives our offense a lo more options. Plus, he's going to be a lot cheaper.

Graham is likely to stay. As for Samuel...

Given the choice of re-signing Samuel, or using that money on another FA (Adalius Thomas, for one), who would you guys prefer?

Sign me up among those that believe that an excellent front 7 trumps an excellent backfield. Then again, I might still pick Samuel in this case due to his age, but it's an interesting question.

As i posted before .We need 12-14 DB`s given our history and as a position we can only spend so much on DB`s. So one must look at samuel to add enough value and can play all season for years maintaining 8-7 DB`s.
