Pete Sheppard Eviscerated Borges on EEI [11/28 Edit: Borges Caught in Lie]

Denis and Callahate despise Belichick because he won't come on their show and they love Borges because he takes the exact same negative stance on everything about Belichick and the Patriots. Boston will be a better place when all of them are gone. Good for Sheppard.

Borges :singing:

Look at this from 2006!: Why Ron Borges should be fired

lol....don't know how i ever missed this one

"Hey, Borges, why should people ask Belichick what he thinks about one of the reporters covering his team? How is this relevant? You are not he story. Belichick is the story. You are simply a medium through which the story is told. If Belichick has a problem with you – and he should – well, tough **** and who cares? If you have issues with Belichick and it affects your writing, well that is a problem, because every one of your readers cares. Obviously, it corrupts your objectivity and your journalistic integrity."

LOL ... so this is still about the Gronk injury? ANother reason my talk radio listening has scaled way back.

All i heard was a bunch of shouting..

No one complains about starters on special teams when McCourty was stripping the ball from the Jets.

It is about creating controversy, carrying the banner of resident contrarian, more twitter followers or facebook likes.. it is absolutely nothing about football, just feeding massive ego's.....

I have to agree. And as annoyingly single-minded as Boston talk radio is on the Sox, when I do catch them talking football Im not looking for abject objectivity. Really its okay to be a bit of a cheerleader.

It tells me how dangerous a little knowledge can be. Some people get to the point where they (appear) to stop enjoying the Patriots success because they are so busy second-guessing and nit-picking every decision. Its like they actually believe they could personally do a better job than the man who has gotten us to five Superbowls in ten years.

These guys need to stop trying to be Belichick and be a little more Kraft.. :)

Pete Sheppard is the biggest homer the world has ever seen, but even he seems rational next to Ron Borges.

I read about it ahead of time and when I listened to the podcast, I have to admit I was disappointed. The question Sheppard repeatedly tried to ask at the beginning and Borges refused to let him finish asking was why Borges didn't write a column yesterday questioning why the Giants were trying to score a TD on, I believe, 4th and 2 up 38-10 on Monday night near the end of the game. I was hoping Sheppard would kick the $%^& out of him, but it didn't really happen. Pete Sheppard is not that effective verbally to begin with and when he loses it, as he did there, he's even less effective. Of course D&C were their usual enlightening selves. Frankly, after listening to it, my immediate thought was that I'd just wasted time in my life I'll never get back. To me, it was 4 blithering fools.

Always amused at how these people get on Pats fans for not challenging Belichick enough because he, you know, wins. Um, isn't that the main goal for fans? To have the team you follow actually win? And we're not talking occasional success here. Not to mention that, as any visitor to this site would know, every Pats move and decision is vigorously debated here.

On a somewhat related matter, I thought this was interesting:

NFL pregame shows losing viewers right across the board

Frankly, it's been years since I've given a crap what talking heads like Shannon Sharpe, Boomer Esiason, Dan Marino, Jimmy Johnson, Michael Strahan, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Keyshawn Johnson and Tom Jackson have to say. I'm just happy more of us are realizing how useless NFL pregame shows have become. NFL pregame shows across the board are little more than poor attempts at comedy shows (hello, Rob Riggle) with little fresh insight and actual football analysis

Shannon Sharp and Tom Jackson are horrendous....I often wonder why they're on TV.

Wow.

After listening to that, it is obvious Ron Borges sounds like a speed addict.

He is high as a kite.

Sad.
Adderol.... he should be suspended....... for life.

I'll never forget Borgey's famous comment after BB traded Bledsoe to Buffalo and I quote: And Yes this came from his mouth :

"They traded the wrong guy !"

Just think how much better this franchise would have been with Drew Bledsoe and David Terrell instead of Tom Brady and Richard Seymour. ...

I am going to get slammed for this one but being the Drew supporter that I am I contend that if for whatever reason BB lost his mind and decided Drew should stay and traded Tommy that Drew would have won at least one SB here but I think Tommy would have gone somewhere and won a few more too. With Tommy the rest of the team went on to win 2 more and found its way to four and I think given the shear talent that was here 01-present even minus Tom that BB would have found a way to win one with Drew.

But I am really glad it went the way it did because the 2 are the perfect pair.

I'm considering registering multiple accounts just so I can like this comment more.

For those who don't know Borges has been hating on Belichick since pretty much day one.

This isn't a guy who has gotten annoyed with the team after 2005's dismal defensive showing. No, this is a guy who got mad that he didn't have the access he was used to and it became either a vendetta or a schtick but either way he's been the lone loony who has pretty much consistently badmouthed Belichick.

He reminds me of Flat Earthers, people that say the moon landing was a hoax or holocaust deniers. People who the more proof you give that they are wrong the more tenaciously they cling to their debunked views.

When you can name the person who's never been wrong on a football evaluation even though they make them frequently, as part of their hobbies/work, your point will make some real sense.

The whole debate is stupid. It's a random freak injury that occurred during a play no one ever gets hurt on. Hindsight is always 20-20.
