Agreed. It flies by. I was just talking yesterday with some buddies about this very topic. It seems it's Labor Day, you blink your eyes and it's Christmas.

I'm happy with the current format of the NFL.

totally.

it really is short for us. Nut must be punishing for the players. IT truly is like the colliseum out there. super exciting and super brutal.
Hats off.

That's why fans who have it as good as we do should spend more time enjoying it and less tearing it a new one. There will be time enough for that again one of these days.

By mid February it seems as it another season will never get here. But the truth is between FA in March and the draft in Aptil and all the media coverage of mini camps and training camps from mid May through August, the NFL has truly become nearly a year round passtime. Still, the season itself is shortlived at 17 weeks/16 games. As is the post season at just 3-4 more.

That's why I'm still advocating for a round robin playoff format in the divisional round adding 2 weeks of great football between all the best teams. Not to mention, ensuring in the process the best teams face in the championship games and superbowl:)

As as fan, you can't say you wouldn't like a game or two more...but obviously it will never happen
I really don't. I understand the punishment inflicted on the players and enjoy the cutthroat nature of a 16 game schedule. Furthermore, I love the format of the playoffs. They reward H&A records and should establish a meaningful advantage.

The NFL is covered all year. As soon as the season finishes it feels like we run straight into a new one with the draft, Free Agency and then training camps etc.

Not to me. I want more games when the season is over..happens every year

Agreed, thats why we love football. Each game means something. It's not like the boring game of baseball, 162 regular games, pre and post games.Feb- Nov.You lose a game, so what, there is another tommorrow.Hockey,I used to like the sport, but it go's on forever. There are only two months in the year without it, july and aug.

The season seems to fly by, but disagree w/this. 16 is good. Threw up a poll question up here on the season length awhile ago, and like 75% wanted it to stay as is.

Personally if they aren't going to give us 18 games a season (which I would prefer as long as rules are changed so teams can carry more players through the season to account for the increased need to not play certain players every snap) I wish the NFL would open up more nights of the week to football.

I get that they don't want to step on the NCAA, but I dream of a day when I can turn on the TV every night of the week during the fall/winter and watch an NFL football game.

I am with the few that would like the season to be extended by two games. The season seems so short and as soon as the Patriots stop playing, I am depressed for about a month!!

I understand that this game is very physical so the NFL should increase roster sizes to allow players to rotate during a game which might decrease injuries. Ofcourse injuries will still happen but maybe not as many as we see today.

drop 2 preseason games..add 1 or 2 more reg season games

What he said.

162 games of baseball renders so many of them pointless. Why bother?. Half empty (or worse) stadiums, and the costs to teams must be horrendous having to ferry players all over the shop.

I heard a reporter say recently that the NFL is like a elite athlete, always primed, almost every performance at 100% and almost every game meaningful. People talk about individual games FOR DAYS after the event. Sure there are some nuff nuff games, but not so many that it's a concern.

At the end of the season it leaves the fans wanting more.

Baseball, on the other hand, is like a 55 year old , 350lb, couch potato with type two diabetes and a heart condition. It just sits there sucking in dollars and producing nothing of note. NOTHING WORTH TALKING ABOUT HAPPENS FOR MONTHS, apart from the odd highlight catch or play. When baseball season finishes it's to a sigh of "thank **** thats over"

Baseball should be reduced to 50 games.

Bring back the USFL! :singing:

Too much of anything is no good. If we get more and more games I think it loses a bit of its value. No complaints the way we have it now....let's not fix what's not broke.

Regardless of how fast the season goes by......we will always have the Bumble....

I think at my funeral I want the Bumble running on a loop.....intermixed with 3 Games to Glory...
