This is my only worry till the end of the season. I DONT want to play them in Denver , reasons are obvious with the addition of one certain QB also i'd rather not face at that Stadium. So i am hoping that they lose one more game to be safe we are ahead of them in the seedings, so cheering for Baltimore to beat them coz i can't see anyone in their schedule that can. For some reason they worry me more than Baltimore and Houston. GO PATS

The pats already played denver....here.

Ugh...what is the point of this kind of worrying? It's insane. Do you think Denver wants to play the Patriots? At home, on Mars...under water?

You'd use your rooting powers to sacrifice a bye in the playoffs so that the Patriots might not have to go to Denver? If that happened, they'd likely have to go to Baltimore instead (if they win the game vs the wild card...and hopefully there aren't too many injuries in that game). Is that scenario better for you?

Actually, if Denver beats Baltimore but Baltimore doesn't lose another game that would mean the Patriots could be the #4 seed, which means they would go to Houston first (again, assuming they win the wild card game). Would you prefer that?

Having a bye in the post season is so very important. The Patriots still even have a shot at the #1 seed. We just need Houston to lose to somebody besides the Patriots...and based on their last two performances, that seems very possible. The Patriots are playing like the best team in football right now. The 49ers couldn't beat the rams at home, so I'm not conceding it to them. The Patriots are the team nobody wants to play anywhere. Stop rooting out of fear and enjoy how good this team is.

Denver can throw the ball and rush the passer. That combination makes them dangerous to every team in the league.

I'm guessing this OP was talking about playoffs.

Broncos remaining schedule:
- Nov. 25 @ KC, would be shocking if Chefs cooked up a win
- Dec. 2 vs. Tampa Bay. Bucs are strong, see how Freeman and Martin do against Miller & Co.
- Dec. 6 (Thu) @ Oakland.Raiders are bad, but home division games can be unpredictable
- Dec. 16, at Baltimore. Guess by the time this one comes we'll have a better idea who to root for
- Dec. 23, vs Cleveland. Browns are tougher than their record; wish this was in Cleveland for better chance of cold
- Dec. 30, vs KC. Chefs just want to end season, go home.

Tampa can beat them & @ KC is always a dangerous place to play. I could care less who wins the Denver vs Ravens game. The only way root I for the Broncos is if that game can put NE in the driver's seat to the one of the top 2 seeds. Another interesting game will be the Giants vs the Ravens. Who TF does Pats fans root for in that game?

The team in the other conference.

I always find it's better to root against a certain team (in this case, Balt.) in these situations.

Thanks Rico,,thats exactly what i meant,,,i fear nobody on the road in the playoffs except Denver. At that altitude and against PM worries me more. Don't get me wrong Jon, i still want that first round bye,,but the point i am making is we need that 3rd seed as the worst case scenario ahead of Denver. Cheers.

True with every other team in the league. Not true with the NYG

Yeah you're right, automatic advancement to the 2nd round of the playoffs and an extra week of rest isn't important.

Those Giants games are over. I'd pull for the Ravens to lose. That's the best thing for this season for the Pats.

Let's get by 12/21/12 first and then see if there is anything to worry about.

How do you figure that? If Denver beats Balt, the three teams ( NE, Den, Balt) all win out ( a longshot I know but we're talking hypothetical here), they will all have 13-3 records. According to the tie breaker, the first tiebreaker is head to head if there was a sweep. NE beat Den, Den beat Balt, Balt beat NE so that's out the window. The next tiebreaker is conference record and the Pats would be 11-1 and the other two teams at 10-2, which could give the Pats the #2.....I think....

NFL Tie-Breaking Procedures

Peyton owns the Ravens. Always has and always will. Denver will not lose again this year. Until the playoffs....

I see what you're saying, Abdul, but Ray Rice > Ronnie Hillman.

I'm rooting for Denver to beat Baltimore.

Everybody talks about the PM threat (and he is a HUGE threat, of course).

But has anyone mentioned how the Pats O has OWNED the Denver D the past 3 games straight?

137 points (avg. 39.0/game)
Rushing: 533 yds (avg. 177/game)
Brady has 9 TDs to 1 Int in those games

None of the Broncos games have been won by less than 10 points.

Every Raven game is an ordeal. The last two have been decided by inches from the field goal posts.

Go Broncos!!!!!!

At least we control our destiny with Denver.
Going to Baltimore worries me more they are nearly unbeatable at home and even when we played good enough to beat them the refs take it away from us. The replacements are gone but that mystique is still there somewhat. Even in '07 when they were a poor team and we were a team of historic importance they probably should have beaten us.

I don't fear Baltimore at all. We were 3 horrendous flags away from beating them on the road, while they were healthy, on a time where the Patriots were playing arguably their worse football. Now they've had some key injuries, that defense is nothing special, and the Pats are hitting their stride. I think this team would smoke the Ravens in the playoffs, no matter where the game is played.

The Texans don't have big game experience, Schaub folds under pressure and that defense had been exposed a little bit lately. If we were to meet them with a healthy Gronk, I'd expect a win. The Broncos could be a lot of trouble if their pass rush shows up. Manning also frightens me, but I'm confident Bill would slow him down, at least long enough for our offense to put some points on the board. I don't think Peyton has ever had a game against the Patriots in which he just dominated them, right from the get go. If he starts slow, we could build an insurmountable lead, and work from there.

To be honest, there's only one team right now that puts the fear of God on me, and that's the Packers. I think if those guys are on their game they could hang 45 on us and call it a day. We have never faced Rodgers, but he's got the skillset to be a whole lot of trouble for the Patriots defensively. That's the one team I'm praying gets bounced out of the NFC playoffs.

Why worry? All the Pat can do is focus on their own performance and their next opponent. How the playoff seeding comes out is out of our control, and probably irrelevant if we're playing well.

I can think of one other NFC that I'd really rather not play (again) in February ...
