You'd think the brainiacs perpetuating this bomb scare thing would have shut up after dismantling the first one...

Jesus almighty.

Incidentally, I blame both Chad Jackson and Josh McDaniels.

Chad Jackson gets a pass for this, it's only his first year.

I do agree that this conclusively shows that Josh McDaniels is out of his league.

i actually saw them taking one of these things down...pretty funny there was like 4 cruisers and 2 fire trucks...plus a bunch of spotlights and cones and they brought out a cherrypicker...hahaha
the mooninites are comming!

Great climate we live in. People see a friggin' lightboard and launch a full-scale terror response. Cory Lidle crashes into an apartment building and news stations immediately go the terrorist route. Space Shuttle Columbia blows up, and people are certain that terrorists did it with a surface-to-air missile. People see a Muslim guy drop and pray in a public place and they anticipate a terrorist attack. So on and so on and so on...

It's becoming very easy to laugh at us as a country.

That sucks.
Firstly...I don't know where you are from..but my guess is NOT Boston or New York...If you lived here and making comments like that you are pretty numb.. but I think you are from somewhere where terrorism has NOT touched or some place where no one would bother..
Firstly, 911 and terrorism is very real in Boston and NY..many people forget that the planes originated in Boston..terrorism and that threat is VERY alive in the air...Given that and El Empoerer Bush's pushing panic and fear mongering all over the place, is it no wonder that panic spread yesterday.
"People see a friggin' lightboard and launch a full-scale terror response."...actually false..a person saw it and called in authorities and THEY decided it was important enough to warrant a response..so if you wish to blame someone on that TALK to the bomb squad and police officials about overreacting.
I don't disagree that there are over responses at times..and what happened in that plane because Mullims were praying WAS absurd!!! But they had been cleared by the FBI BEFORE..But how has this atmosphere been created?? What can be done??
I wonder WHY this ad agency and the execs who knew about this did not notify the city WHEN they knew it was an issue?? It was all over the news at 10 AM and they waited hours and hours and were FORCED to come clean ONLY after it was known. Think how this COULD have been nipped in teh bud at 10 AM IF they had taken responmsibility early??? I really hope there's a million dollar check being written to the City of Boston from these idiots who thought this up and said it was OK.

Oh give it up. They placed those things all over - in 11 different cities - and they were there for a week. Look at the political forum for insight to this.

I was living right outside of washington on 9/11 ... yes it was scary, but they don't over react to a cartoon.

Wow, this whole thing is hysterical. It went from pipe bombs to little digital men flashing the FU sign. Pretty much everyone from the person who first reported it to the Boston police all of the way up to the feds should be ashamed right now because they are now the laughing stock of the world.

mods: can we move this to the political or general forums?

it has nothing to do with football

Fixit:

- was born, raised, and lived in N. Attleboro, MA until he was 25

- has resided in NY since

- was a member of the NY Air National Guard (8 years) until last year

- watched the second tower fall on live TV and immediately left work to pack his crap for deployment

- was activated for two years immediately following 9/11

- spent nine months doing Presidential Security at Andrew AFB in D.C. during that time...as an aside, the Beltway Sniper was shooting people all around that place, too

- realizes that who you are or where you come from is irrelevant, because the current climate of fear is forkin' ridiculous

- would rather be blown up than live a life scared of his own shadow

Other than that, though, you were right on the money about me. That's a spectacular talent you have.

I forgot to add that some Al Qaeda terrorists received their flight training at Richmor Aviation in my town.

You know what we need to get back on topic? More play-action. :D

2 actual pipe bombs apparently unconnected to this story were actually found at NE Medical Center and the Longfellow Bridge.

What were they thinking??? I wonder.... Why didn't they think that that may happen??? ...
Actually, they were put in other cities weeks ago as part of a publicity stunt. No one in Seattle, Philly, etc etc thought they were bombs. Only in Boston.

And even then, the AG goes after the workers who installed them, not the company that paid them and gave them orders to install them.

Totally silly.

Too funny. I love that show. I guess the idiot buerocrats who run the state don't watch the show nor have children that do either.

Can you believe the tab wsa $750,000!!! They saw this "bomb scare" as an opportunity to make a few bucks of overtime on the taxpayers dime as usual.

Unfrigginbelievable.

Not to get all political, but...

Does anyone else find it strange that Deval Patrick wants to prosecute Turner/the "bomb" planters to the full extent of the law, while he, well, we all know about Ben LaGuer...?

Trying to do something radical as soon as he gets in?

i dont know.

I don't know whether I'll find insight there....there was over reaction..there is NO doubt about that..I wonder why Boston and not these other cities??? Again...in NY..they see crazy things all the time so??? I think they are sued to it...Why did the bomb squad and others do what they did?? If they the so called professionals over reacted..then should they be made to look bad??
What about the media company and Turner those taht knew at 10 AM when this broke...COULD have saved a lot of panic and did nothing...I think THAT is where the law should look at..for if at 10 AM..something was said a LOT of money could have been saved... and supposedly someone in the media company told one of the 2 NOT to say a word lay low. Cuplpability there BIG TIME!!! As far as the two arrested goes...I do not believe they should bear the brunt of this at all...their news conference??? VERY interesting..

Who should pay for the million that it all cost??? The AG should go after the board room people..not the 2...THAT is beyond stupid but Coakley is as stupid as they go.
