Missing Mankins and Vollmer..O line responded

They really did. Was worried after it was announced Vollmer was inactive. And if it was just to give Vollmer the night off worked out pretty good.

Gosh, Marcus Cannon doesn't suck after all.

OMG, yet another Pats lineman derided in the preseason who might turn out to be decent after all. It's almost like someone on the Pats knows what he's doing.

It didn't look promising after the first series 3 and out, but after that point the OL was pretty much perfect. I would bet the Jets didn't have more than a half a dozen hits or hurries the rest of the way. Cannon shut up those people still hanging on to those preseason issues and putting him down. He was EXCELLENT. Granted he didn't have to face an elite outside rusher, but he did the job that was asked of him and more. Good for him.

That hit Brady took where they took back Hernandez TD almost killed me.

I am not going to disrespect the nice job the OL did but everyone knows the Jets have a horrid pass rush and it doesn't get much easier than the Jets DL who have just one respected pass rush threat in Wilkerson.

Luckily the team was not up against powerful pass rush teams like Houston or SF without its starting LG or RT......hopefully the OL is healthy and has depth when those games come about.

Yeah, but it looked like Brady saw it coming and spun his body around and fell away just right so the hit didn't end up as bad as it looked.

BTW, there was no OPI on that play.

amazing...where are all the Turkey Little doom and gloom "experts"????

overdosed on sky pie???

After another Pats win, they called an emergency session to figure out how to spin this one.

With both Mankins and Seabass out plus Connoly ailing? My faith was wavering prior to kickoff. Yet the OL's play was very good. Pretty amazing that the Patriots routinely find a way to put together an effective group from nondescript backups (and have been doing so for many years).

They were sitting at the kids table complaining that they have to eat their vegetables before getting pie...

meanwhile, Brian Waters watches from the dinner table, no richer than he was in March.

An interesting post. Many, including myself, were concerned about our OL without Waters. A few games into the season there were some (not me this time) that were howling at the moon about giving him anything he wanted. Fast forward to November 22 and we find out that Waters wasn't as direly needed as first expected.
I sure hope the real reason for Waters not being here was him making the decision that his family (at this stage of his career) was more important. I respect that -- book closed on Brain Waters. But IF the holdout was all about more money and he let his extremely finite career miss this golden opportunity at a title run? I lost some respect for the guy (not that he cares about having my respect :D).

JMC, dunno if Big Vince is your sig, or part of your post, but he looks positively in Love with that Drumstick!

Crazy to have this kind of thread without talking about Dante. He's truly the man. He mixes and matches and always coaches up and adjusts. Give the guys stepping up credit, but we've got the best O-line coach in the biz helping to make it happen.

We were also up against a blitzing defense that know us very well, one of the toughest conditions for Brady to perform in. It was a great performance.

Its quite simple.

Dante should have a high school named after him.

I dvr'd and watched the replay this morning. Focused on Marcus Cannon. The big fella can play. He abused Calvin Pace. The box score has Pace with two assists. I didn't see them. He didn't make a play off of Marcus. He also doubled down on DeVito and Wilkerson successfully a couple of times. He's the one who knocked Wilkerson down when he got hurt. Pulled. If you have it. Watch the 2nd play of the game. He pulls and hits the Jets cb and knocks him back about 5 yards. Sealed David Harris on a nice 12 yard run by Vereen. On the 1st td he washed Pace so far down. That's what gave TB a great look with nobody in front of him. On Ridley's TD run Fells blocked the de and he went down and hit 56 Demario Davis and knocked him on his arse. The only tackle i found he gave up was Brady's last play. 49-12. He didn't seal McIntrye on a play inside of him. He did that extremely well all night to Pace. Didn't get beat in pass blocking. Picked up two blitzes by db's where Pace dropped back and he got out to block the blitzer. I'm an easy grader. But, that's an A+ in my book

At times it was even Divine Comedy.
