And really Why Should'nt he get the attention? - He is the biggest WR prospect since Terry Glenn for the Patriots and fans are hoping he contributes like Terry did in his prime ....or much better than that,Hopefully.

I can't think of a Patriots WR that has gotten so much hope and attention from the fans - Reminds me of when Russ Francis came here in the 70s-The fans went crazy with his potential,And he actually ended up being a very solid productive TE for us.

I think his impact could be anywhere from bad to ok but if Troy retires, should become one of the better punt returners in the league, to the point where he gets Pacman treatment towards the end of the season - this also applies to kick offs. I do not like the idea of starting cornerbacks returning kicks (i.e. Hobbs)- especially with the history of injuries in the defensive backfield on this team since 04.

Lots of great receivers have had less than stellar first years, Troy Brown for one, and have come on after they have adapted to the NFL. The Colstons of the world are the exception not the rule, to have missed all of TC is a bad start he never recovered from.. imo he will be fine.

If that's the case BB and Pioli should have taken another player with that 2nd rd pick. The team had too many holes to let "a potential talent" observe from the bench. With emergency needs at the receiver position this year, his inability to break into the lineup was certainly not BB's plan.


I hope he has a stellar career...but it doesn't look good at this point. I'm astounded anyone can claim not to be dissapointed by CJack thus far.

Running back is a LOT easier for a rookie to play than WR. Plus, Addai has the luxury of the defense dropping 8 guys into coverage to try and stop Manning, so he has gaping holes all the time. That comparison means absolutely nothing.

I just hope to see Chad being used to his strengths. Get him the ball any way you can, because he has by far the best physical, playmaking tools on the team.

If CJ stays healthy and gets a full TC and full pre-season then I think it's fair to say that he will step in and become one of the many 600-800 yard guys that often populate our system.

That's a load of denial...There's no way Addai's receiving, running and pass blocking duties are less complicated than what CJack is responsible for. Especially considering all the gyrating, flapping and audibling Manning does at the LOS.

Thus far CJack is no Randy Vataha. Certainly BB is contemplating "Plan B" over a bottle of Maalox right now. If CJack doesn't work out next season the receiver problem is still there.

Yes, it is harder to be a rookie wide receiver than it is a running back. Period. Basically everyone will tell you that and numbers will indeed back it up, so in short, you're wrong.

The RBs job doesn't change much unless the entire play changes. From what I understand of the Colts offense Peyton doesn't change much besides the playcall (I think he has three plays to pick from at the line). All the rest of his chicken flapping is just for show. So Addai would know what his assignment is based on one of the three plays, it wouldn't change within the play.

So, in short, I think you're right.

This reasoning is flawed. The learning curve for RB and WR are in no way comparable.

30 catches at 20 yards per catch and 600 yards would be tremendous! It would be the missing element that this team lacked this year.

That's all we need from Jackson - nothing more - I think he can still be much more than that, but if that's what we get from him, having him as a 2nd round draft choice will be a steal.

Jackson can do either - sophomore year I think he had 29 catches for about 650 then his senior year was 88 catches for 900.

Maybe his Pats career will mimick his Gator career and next year he'll be our big play guy before settling into a more every down role.
