Dan Marino and Cris Carter embarrass themselves with criticism of Pats

Chris Berman and 50% of Tom Jackson are the only respectable people on that entire network. Tom Jackson has been steadily working his way up from -1000% after his stupid comments he made about BB almost a decade ago.

Oh and Jon Gruden is a genuinely nice Football guy, but god damn does he talk too much.

Carter absolutely embarrassed himself both last night and this morning on ESPN. I saw Marino make his comment and simply wrote it off as wishful thinking on his part. Carter, however, was an entirely different story. His dislike of BB is both genuine and well-documented.

Carter is a dumbasshat that has how many rings? Well, Marino too.

I don't mind Keyshawn. Boomer is sometimes ok. I rarely listen to them though.

There really are not that many sportscasters out there that are worth a chit. I don't know if I could count them on my ten fingers.

Gruden obviously loves the sound of his own voice and can say absolutely nothing in more words than I ever thought possible. Seems to me that every football player he has ever seen is on the way to the HOF.

The only guy I ever knew that could be effusive about a holder for the place kicker.

"The young man always gets the laces turned the right way even under the most relentless pressure. The boy is well on his way to a fabulous career holding kicker's balls. That really did not come out the way I meant it to but take it from me, he is a terrific young man."

Marino's comment was just off. Carter and the rest of the monday night countdown crew look ******ed every week if you ask me.

This.

Dan Marino and Cris Carter saying something stupid doesn't qualify as news, folks.

If we are going to make a thread every time one of them say something stupid, we'll need a new sub-forum for them to share. And Warren Sapp would get his own sub-forum.

I'll wager that sub-forum would have an epic name, one befitting of its members.

Please explain how he embarrassed himself.
Saying that BB put Gronk at risk of injury is accurate. I don't know how anyone could call that statement wrong.
That is what the article I was responding to cited. What 'well-documented dislike' are you talking about?
Criticism is not well-documented dislike by the way.

Carter is what he is. He is a self-confessed ME guy. His comment the other day was WRs care about 2 things "Me, and My Money".
He also has no axe to grind on BB.
It amazes me how people here think that any negative comment towards the Patriots, justified or not, means that person has a biased hatred and agenda against the team.
Please explain? If you require an explanation for what I posted and the fact that many others have expressed similar sentiments, you're either bone-headed or simply argumentative. I certainly don't think it's the former, but am quite sure it's the latter. There are times when people criticize BB and the Pats and I am in full agreement. However, judging Carter's assessment of anything the Pats/BB do is similar to judging Fred Smerlas's assessment of the same. Neither is capable, nor willing, to be objective. Ergo, their opinions, at least in my mind, simply don't count. You and others are certainly free to disagree. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Marino just made a dumb offhand comment and clearly wasn't watching the game. Carter should have known better.

So your answer is his comments were embarrassing because his history of being anti-Patriot in your opinion?
OK, well I see why you don't want to discuss it.

I read the initial post, I read your response, I understood both posts then subsequently made my own comment.

You truly are a marvel.
Then why are you arguing it isn't irrelevant?
Your post is valid, it just isn't relevant to my post that you copied in, thereby implying it was in response to it.

His history of anti-Patriot comments?

There is proof of anti-Patriot commenting right here in front of you.

It is explained to him that every team has their starters in during PATs. No matter the score.

He responds with the petulant But What Has the Patriot Way Gotten Them in the Last 8 Years comeback.

That particular comeback is a favorite of the haters. Its like should never be heard coming from the mouth of anyone that pretends to be objective. 30 other NFL teams would trade their last 8 years for ours.

(The Giants can just GFT)

What does any of that have to do with the comment that BB left him at risk by leaving him in the game? Its true. It can easily be justified, but it is true.

Again, a comment regarding not winning a SB in 8 years may be misplaced, may be offensive to Patriot fans, but I don't know how it is embarrasing to the guy who said it.
Remember 'the Patriot Way' is a way of saying the Patriots are smarter than anyone so anyone who criticizes and GFY, so its not a ridiculous response.

Again, I'm not pimping Carters analyst skills or commentary here, but to say he embarrassed himself by pointing out that leaving a player on the field exposes him to injury is kind of crazy.

And by the way it wasn't me who said his history is what the comment should be judged upon, that was me questioning the other poster using that as a rationalization.

Ah okay. I apologize. Got a little lost in the back and forth. My bad.

Luckily I don't care what your opinion of me or my post is, Andy. Every time I hear Cris Carter talk I hear a pompous, bitter jerk who acts like the world owes him something and constantly trashes the team I cheer for and care about. His playing days have nothing to do with his "commentary". Since he uses ESPN as a vehicle to crap on my team, I made a response.

This is a message board and I expressed my opinion. Feel free to block me so you don't have to see what I say in the future, it will not bother me in the slightest. Either way, don't bother replying to this. I see you on here all the time starting arguments and telling others how they are wrong for whatever reasons you feel like throwing out there, sometimes real and sometimes imaginary. I'm not going to get into one of the famous AndyJohnson flame wars. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

The only time I remember Carter trashing anything Patriots was when he slighted Branch in 2010 but other than that I don't pay attention to him all that much.

You're forgetting Bruschi :p

The espn mnf crew has to be the biggest bunch of dorks of any network. They are seriously inept at making intelligent analyses and explanations. I'm talking about the pre-game crew here, Gruden knows his stuff.

What in the hell are you on about?

Cris Carters opinion is Gronk should not have been in. My opinion is CC is he's a JackHole. To think that Gronk shouldn't have been in is purely idiotic. Every team does/did the same thing. Parcels, Ryan,... say so themselves. To even still be discussing it is redundent. Lets bury it already.

You're a lawyer...aren't you?
