Bruschi: "I would doubt that Gronkowski is out the full six weeks."
By: Derek Havens

The New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts 59-24 on Sunday afternoon, but the victory seems to be a costly one. Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski broke his forearm on an unfortunate play during the final P.A.T by former Patriots defensive b...

rodney was out the 6 weeks...everyone is different. We don't know

Gronk will be back just in time for our playoff run.

And believe me....

WE ARE WINNING THE SUPER FREAKING BOWL THIS TIME!!!!

If this is a hairline, he might be back as soon as the stitches and wound start to heal. Dress it up, cover it nice, good to go!

Do hairlines require surgery?

i have a buddy who is in the medical field. I asked him today at work his take. He thinks it's worse than a hairline if he needed screws to set it. Should be able to heal on it's own in 4-6 weeks if a hairline but who knows

The silver lining is it will hopefully give his hip time to heal and give some work to Shiancoe.

Personally, I hope they don't rush him back. They've done that too many times, and it generally hasn't worked well. Didn't work with Mayo in 2009. Didn't work with Chung in 2011. Didn't work with Hernandez this year. I'd rather go without Gronk the remainder of the "preseason" and end up the #4 seed and go into the "regular season" at full strength than to rush him back too soon only to have him banged up and get reinjured or be less effective.

Bryan Cox was out 4 weeks after breaking his leg in 2001.

Just depends on lot of variables

At 4 weeks he "might" be back for the game against SF. If it's longer than that, I'm ok with him missing the final 2 weeks of the season to make sure he's 00% for the post season. (though a tune up game with Miami wouldn't be a bad thing either).

No, prolly not. I'm just makin up stuff cuz Bill won't respond to my emails.

But maybe they would in this case just to re-inforce it so the break doesn't get worse and so he can play Thursday night.

No? Not buyin it? Just keeping positive because I just want the Pats to destroy the Jets this time and get rid of them for the year.

They are saying 4-6, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to get back for the Houston game.

There is no way he misses the SF game IMO.

Madden curse nails another star athlete....

Linebackers would break their own arms so they could use the cast as a club a couple weeks.

I don't think he will be back before 4 weeks..again..why risk it if he isn't 100%?

Oh please, we all know Megatron won the cover award... is there a semifinalist curse now too?

All speculation at this point depending on severity of injury. On a positive note takin his young age into consideration his healing process could be sooner than later. His will to come back is a plus but he shouldn't be rushed back for Texans & 49ers as saw in this last superbowl Gronk less than 100% and who knows if outcome would have been different if he was.
