That's all I've heard all day from people in the football world. Where were these people last week when the Ravens beat the Raiders 55-20? Last year Saints v.s. Colts 62-7? The bias against the Patriots is laughable. It's not like the last 10 minutes the Patriots kept throwing on every play to purposely try and score. There was the pick-six and while trying to run the clock out our running backs managed to run into the end zone because the Colts couldn't stop it.

Huh? The Ravens going for the fake FG up all those points last week was one of the more hot topics for football talk shows after the games had ended. Same with the Saints stomping the Colts last season.

The pats will always be accused of running up the score if they win by 3 scores and accused of having a trash defense if the games close. They are hated because they win and beat these mediots favorite teams and the teams of fans across the league.

I say screw 'em run it up every chance you get, bring home the Lombardi (let's run it up there too for the world to see), and laugh in their faces

Don't listen to the mediots. A win is a win.

Your team doesn't like losing by 35 points?

Stop them !!

All the players get paid good money to play the game.

Earn your Pay ! :rocker:

I knew late in the game yesterday that we were going to get hit with the "running up the score" mantra, and when I found out how Gronk was injured, the related "karma is a witch with a b for running up the score" argument. First, the Pats were trying to run out the clock, not run up the score. How about the Colts trying to stop Ridley who waltzed into the endzone untouched? Yes, we were up by a lot, but these same pundits crying about running up the score were just a few days ago crying about how the Pats can't close out games. I thought the Pats should keep the pedal to the metal because even though our D obviously played much better yesterday, the Colts still managed to hang 24 on them, and when the game started with the Colts scoring 2 TDs on their first 2 drives, with no problems, who among us did not get that sinking feeling?

The Gronk injury was a freak thing; we did nothing wrong in the game. Hope we pull it together and play just as well against the Jets minus Gronk.

I watch Mike and Mike and ESPN First Take and I didn't hear them mention it at all but it could've been on days that I missed an episode? Also, with other football fans I didn't see them say anything. I've seen some people like Prisco CBS say that it was Belichick's arrogance. We need to score like that because with our defense - no lead is safe lol.

Yeah I guess on ESPN Radio someone was pushing for the Karma thing with Gronk's injury.. so ridiculous.

38 points were scored by the Offense, i would consider it running up the score if Brady threw for 6 TDs.......
How about when the Bears put 51 points against the Titans (51-20 final score), It was the bears D which scored almost half the points with INT returns for TD . Also, people need to stop whining about BB using Gronk late in the game.

IMAGINE THIS

BB Pulls Gronk out for the last PAT and the replacement blocker canot stop the player on the defense who eventually falls on the kickers leg and breaks it..........

What would ppl say then?

BB has lost it? why hide Gronk? nothing would have happened to Gronk if he had stayed and they would have saved the kicker in turn........... blah blah blah

I don't watch that garbage show with the Jets fan talking into the mic. But on NFL Live, SportsCenter, NFL AM, and Total Access, the Ravens running up the score was covered at great length. As for other football fans, they're idiots. Do you really GAF about what they say or don't say?

It's not caring about what they think - just baffled by the blatant obliviousness and bias lol.

What i heard on NFL AM when ravens put a 50 burger was nothing but praise for Harbaugh
"They need to score to fell better after the loss of Ray lewis and others........"

really?

The bias is clearly there with fans, and may be there with most of the media. But the media did a better job of hiding that one. In spite of the OP, they did talk about it... sometimes at great length.

As i was watching the game yesterday i had this thought. BB was playing playing with Lucks head. BB knows this kid is the real deal and that he'll be playing him on a regular for many years. He wanted that score seared in lucks head. That he'll remember what happened to him here, he wants Luck to get that negative feeling every time he sees Gillette stadium. Same for indys new coaching staff, implant a feeling of defeat and dread about playing the pats. He wants them to associate the pats with pain and defeat.

BB (and myself) firm believer of never letting up on the gas, whether ahead by 28 or down by 28. Always play in same mode.

When you deviate from this model is when injuries occur. (I know it doesn't explain Gronk's freak injury, but still.)

The Pats really are in a no-win situation. Up 21 with 11 minutes left, what do you do? If you drive down and get a touchdown, you're "running up the score". If you quietly go 3-and-out, and the other team gets the ball and bing-bang-boom, a 40-yard PI penalty leads to a quick TD, suddenly you're up just 14 with 8 minutes left and it's anyone's game. And even if the Pats win that game, they're criticized for not putting the other team away.

So apparently the Patriots, in order to avoid criticism, need to win by 10-14 points, somewhat comfortably but not in dominant fashion, never being in too much trouble but never burying the other team either.

Man it must be tough playing when that is the window in which you have to operate.

It's only 'running up the score' if it's the Pats who do it.

The Ravens going ape5hit on the Raiders, was a 'blowout'. Same for the Texans ripping the Ravens a new one....

If there's one thing I know to be true it's that for every dumbass who whines about running up the score there will be 5 people posting here complaining about said dumbass.

I'm actually more tired of the "OMG THEY SAID WE ARE RUNNING UP THE SCORE" threads than I am of the people who whine about running up the score in the first place.

Where is this football world that you speak of? Is it the talking heads on TV and the voices over the radio? If so, I have news. That's not the football world. That's the world of stirring a turd.

In my opinion one of the most insulting things a professional football team can do to another professional football team is to let up on them. If want you to not score tehn they should stop you. If they are going to quit, then that gives the coaching staff of that team something ot use on them.

I wish the Pats would actually run up the score on someone, they likely could've hung 70 on the Colts last night...they chose not to.
