OT: Someone is sprinkling pipe bombs around Boston today

Watching NECN and the have found and removed (and in some cases detonated) several pipe bombs in the areas from the Longfellow Bridge over to the NE Medical Center. Not sure how they came upon them although the one at Tufts NE was not called in but rather found by an employee. They are still apparently searching in the Storrow Drive area.

This is complete and ignorant stupidity on the part of Menino and many others. When the phrase "terrorism" enters their brain they check all common sense at the door. This was a huge overreaction, and they are acting indignant so they look less foolish.

And what is even WORSE is that once this broke early in the AM why didn't someone from Turner or Interferernce or ANYONE who knew about this step up to the plate and alert authorities to this...Why did they allow authorities hours and NOT do anything???

Great climate we live in. People see a friggin' lightboard and launch a full-scale terror response. Cory Lidle crashes into an apartment building and news stations immediately go the terrorist route. Space Shuttle Columbia blows up, and people are certain that terrorists did it with a surface-to-air missile. People see a Muslim guy drop and pray in a public place and they anticipate a terrorist attack. So on and so on and so on...

It's becoming very easy to laugh at us as a country.

That sucks.
