ST teams had a huge impact today...relative dif between the two was more than you would have expected.

The Pats clearly did so much of a better job making Luck's youth hurt him than other teams have done. Once the Pats had it figured out, jumped his snap count constantly and as simple a thing as it sounds like to stop, once they started the Pats did it all game long.

Considering the rust and lack of experience in this defense, Talib was terrific...truly had an impact. Should finally put to rest the idea that at least on defense, the problem is the coaching. It is and has been the talent.

Assuming everyone's healthy, my only regret is that they didn't go for two to try for 60. Or that Luck's final INT wasn't run back for a score.

Going down when he did was the right call. The game was already over. No need to continue to rub it in..

And the negatives for the game:

Mike Reiss said:
Ankle injury for top pick Jones. Impressive defensive end Chandler Jones, a mainstay who entering the game had been on for 90.9 percent of the team’s snaps, left in the first quarter with an ankle injury and didn’t return. At first, Jones had his right foot re-taped on the sideline and attempted to walk it off. But he then went back to the locker room for X-rays. He returned to the sideline in the second quarter, in uniform, but wasn’t with his teammates for the second half. This will be a big injury situation to monitor.

(snip)

Gronkowski went to the locker room late in the fourth quarter, so he might have been dealing with some type of injury, which will be something to monitor.

New England was up 52 - 24 inside of 7:00 minutes .... and elected to still THROW the ball...

And you motherless ****sucking New England TGG trolls wonder why?....

Wah Wahhhh

I agree going down was the right thing to do.

Still wish he had ran it back. I wanted to see the Colts be even more embarrassed.

Really liked what i saw from Talib/Dennard/Mccourty. Hopefully they'll build on this.

We could use a LB with speed.

Where are those old Edelperson bashing threads?

I think that it's obvious (despite what some think) that if they can get him the ball in space, he can be extrememly dangerous.

The bubble and jailbreak screens work great with him, and he is by far our best punt returner.

He isn't going to see the ball too often lined up as a traditional WR running various options in the route tree, some due to the fact that we have so many weapons and some due to the fact that he doesn't fully seem to grasp the offense/have the particular skillset to be a "traditional" WR.

They need to continue to be creative and try and get him the ball a handful of times though, because it will eventually pay off like we saw today.

The kid has good effort, slick moves, and a good football work ethic. He made at least 2-3 very nice conversions on longer 3rd downs IIRC.

Happy to win big. Talib looked good, even when he got beat on plays he had really good coverage. After the first two touchdowns I thought it was going to be 61-59 by the end of the game but Talib's pick-six changed the game.

unbunch your panties

stupid reply. using rape in the context the poster did is offensive and ignorant. broaden your vocab and you won't have that problem.

Great all-around team effort. The defense made plays. Special teams was tremendous and the offense did not take its foot off the gas.

I know I am probably in the minority with my opinion of Luck but here goes.

He is a really good quarterback with a chance to be great some day. I do not get how so many media pundits are already saying he is a hall of famer. Most of his best plays have come outside the pocket and running the ball in the endzone.

He is not as bad as the Pats made him look today, but he is nowhere near the class of Brady, Rodgers, Brees, either Manning, Big Ben, etc. He did not really take over a "2" win team; the Colts tanked so they could draft him. The Colts had 5 or 6 win talent last year.

Sorry about the tanget, but back to the Pats. The offense was efficient and the defense tackled much better and did not give up as many big plays. There are a few things I took away from the game:

1) Edelman really stepped up and played amazing. He is dangerous with the ball in his hands in the open field and seems to be a threat to take it to the house at any time.

2) Brady played great. He avoided pressure and made some great reads and throws. The best part was his efficiency on third down. I did not look up the stats, but he made several clutch throws to keep drives alive.

3) Welker, Gronk and Lloyd. They all played really well and did not drop any gimmies. Gronk, in particular, was a one man wrecking crew.

4) The secondary, especially Dennard and Talib, took advantage of bad throws and made Luck pay. The front 7 got some pressure and forced some bad throws.

Overall it was a very enjoyable game and I look forward to win #8 against the Jets on Thanksgiving.

"Not perfect, but I'll take it"

About Luck - he's a rookie! Both Peyton & Brady had these kinds of games their first year.

He's as good as advertised, and will only get better.

Did I just watch a Patriots' game where both corners had pick sixes? :verycool:

Instead of getting all riled up, you should actually READ what you were responding.

What you over-react to was him saying that Luck isn't a HOF caliber QB the way some pundits are already saying he is. And Luck ISN'T. Only time will tell if Luck actually get's better or if what he does this season is his ceiling. Again, that is something that Heavyde050 said as well.

Please post your non-knee jerk comments here.

If you want to whine or complain, please go to another thread, we don't want to hear it :D

A post game thread created just minutes after the game ended and you don't want knee jerk reactions? Major fail.

Chandler Injury - My feeling is that the Pats played it safe with him and kept him out so that he can maybe have a go against the Jets

Gronkowski - Heard he went to the locker-room early. Haven't heard why.

Super impressive performance from all 3 units today. If I have one complaint, it's that the D still needs to tighten their coverage. Luck marched up and down the field all day. The Patriots were the beneficiaries of some lucky breaks (pardon the pun). In January and February, they may not get them.

Overall, a pleasing win. Onto the Rats.

Posting a stupid comment in a post game thread that has nothing to do with the post game = EPIC FAIL.. Good job... You should be proud. [/sarcasm]
