So when Da Coach swears he is pulling for Lovie's Bears, you might as well believe him.

''It's not going to affect me one bit,'' he says of the possible redirection of Chicago limelight. ''This is the 2006 Bears. Chicago can be proud again. This game has nothing to do with the '85 Bears. In fact, it has nothing to do with this year. It comes down to 60 minutes. Anything can happen. You can even have a 21-3 lead, with a genius coach, and lose.''

The lifelong stirrer-upper just can't help a little dig at wizard Bill Belichick and his Patriots, who were ahead of the Colts in the AFC Championship Game by that score and lost.
he really hates BB for some reason

Maybe because Belichick has 3 times the SB Championships, as a HC, as Ditka - although it seems like there's something more there too. Maybe Ditka and Tom Jackson are good friends ?

i know it wont happen but i just hope one day BB comes out in a press conf or something and launches a expletive filled responses to all these moron's collectively ..would be great to see ..but BB will just ignore and keep going and no one in the organization or team will respond either

Where's the insult? He referred to BB as a genius.

Anyways, Ditka has made some great commercials with
those guys going to the 70's throwback party and other
beer commercials.
Oh, not to mention those cyalisis commercials.

Yeah, when you get to his age, you get to do ads for heart pills or ED pills.

yeah whenever someone calls me a genious i take it as a slap in the face.:)

Ditka is very good friends with Schottenheimer. Marty has a lot of friends across the league who felt it was his time to shine this year and took to heart his latest postseason disaster. The phony "dancing on the field" issue after the Charger loss gave them a false sense of the moral high ground. No doubt Marty privately voiced to them a misguided anger after that bitter defeat. Envy and resentment toward BB from other coaches has been building for years and is immense. Many probably feel that Marty is "the better man", "has done his time", had the "better team" and "deserved" to win, while BB has "already had his share", and thus cheered the Pats' collapse in Indy. The Mangini nonsense exploited by the NYmedia, created a new chink in BB's armor, and the divorce proceedings left him open to attack from those looking to cast him in an "immoral" light. For a no-nonsense, no frills coach as brilliant and talented as BB, it's not enough to win 3 Sbs... you have to win every year to fight off the jackals in the sport so eager to rip you apart.

Great post!!! :rocker:

As a fan of an organization that has no class I'm fascinated to learn all about class from watching wise football sages like Mike Ditka.

Now I can accept the fact that Belicheck isn't as smart as Ditka when it comes to coaching, cap management and the draft *cough RickyWilliams cough* but I just hope that someday, if we're lucky, we'll have a coach as classy as Ditka.

With spelling like that you won't have to worry.

Besides, football coaches aren't geniuses.
Alvin Einstein. Now he was a genius.

suffice it to say ditka's a moron and i'll leave it at that.

His brother Albert was also. :) But, I think you can be a genius without being an astronomer, physicist or a rocket scientist. In his own right, especially with his ability to come up with so many different game plans to defeat so many different teams over the years, I think Belichick is a genius. Oh, also, selling the game plans and getting his teams to implement them, that's the great engineering and operations management part of him.
