Except for the fact that people may want a different team than the Patriots to win, on a national basis, I don't get that the Colts should be more popular than the Patriots. First, domed stadium teams aren't as popular, I don't think. There's nothing like a classic snow game once in a while, and the rest of the elements make it more "football", and the "Autumn Wind", to borrow from a Raiders John Facenda piece. Indoor games suck. Second, for the really casual fans that look at uniforms to decide, the old, dour Colts uniform is boring compared with the Pats uniform. As for city venue, Indianapolis, Indiana vs. New England? All crappy reasons to pick a team, I know, but how many fans decide that way? Anybody have a national map on NFL team allegiances? If they get the Lombardi, Pats fans can look no further than their own team for the blame. Fact is that many more people are glad that the Pats didn't win than we would be if the Colts don't win. Sad truths, I know.
Anyway, let the Colts win and get fat dumb and happy, which coach B never lets happen with our team.
