By 4:00 Talib will be added to the roster and Shiancoe must be added or put on IR for the year, meaning two cuts are iminant. Also the clock is ticking for the return of Prior and Ballard to practice (two weeks left as of mon). Then Three weeks of practice not counting on the roster total. So we should start to see quite a bit of roster shuffeling going on over the next few weeks.

Who goes when Talib and Shiancoe are added? Who goes when Prior is added? And who goes when and if Ballerd is added?

I see Williams DB being waived destoned to the PS for Talib and Martin DB cut for Shiancoe's activation. I also see Scott DE getting cut when Prior returns. Lastly I do see the return of ballard being that by the time limit it will be 10 months since the injury, at that point the battle between Fells and Hoomanawanui should have worked out the final cut. Yes I do see the Pats entering the end of the schedual and post season with 5 TE's on the roster

I don't know which ones will be cut, but I think Hoomanawanui, Scott, Brace, Rivera, Martin, and Williams would be the options.

Ballard? I don't think so.

I can't imagine why we would have 5 TEs on the roster. Especially when 3 of them are JAGs.

Ballard will be on IR! Make sure he is completely recovered from his injury!

Both Mankins and Welker return in 6 months, ACL recovery time seem's to have been reduced to 6 months in general. It has been 9 months for Ballerd and could be 10 months befere the timeline expires. Plenty of time to contribute late season and playoffs. Better option than both Fells and Hoooooooooooo......

Ballard has never played a snap in the Patriot offense. Unlikely he'll contribute.

Fells and Shiancoe are anything but JAGs. Compared to Hern and Gronk of course...

Gronk, AH, Ballard, Shaincoe, and the better of (Fells or Wooman), so who are the three JAGs?????

I actually started a thread on this very subject. It is my understanding that Pryor may not be activated, due to a CBA provision that would allow the NEP to retain his services yet another year if left all year on PUP (not IR).

Since Pryor was due to be a FA at the end of the year, this may be the best way to go since the NEP can retain him at his current rate for one more year.

I was not personally aware of this provision myself. If you want more info, please click on the thread about Myron Pryor's contract situation.

Then again, Belichick may feel that bringing him back this year if healthy, would be more beneficial than retaining his services on the cheap another year...we'll have to wait and see.

Ballard isn't playing this year. Shiancoe, Fells and Hooman are JAGs.

I believe Ballard also had Microfractures in his knee??? Not exactly sure what it was but it was more then just an ACL and it was generally thought his recovery would require he miss the year. He is on the PUP so there is still a chance so we will see.

Andy, when you get a chance can you chime in on your thoughts re: the proposed Pryor solution?

I certainly realize that you don't think all too highly of him (rightfully so), but it may allow Belichick another year of proper evaluations, thus voiding his last year of his rookie deal and also preventing him from becoming a free agent.

I started a thread regarding the situation.

Thanks.

Its not that I have anything against Pryor, its just that the overrating of him is out of control. He hasn't really done anything, but I do see some potential, although he is as glass as anyone we have.

As far as the PUP thing, I didn't realize that was a rule. It could work for Ballard as well, essentially extending him.
I'd say if Pryor is healthy, activate him and get what you can. He will probably be hurt again next year.

Its funny how people complain when Brace is hurt, and the same people talk about Pryor like he is an allpro with bad luck.

Yes, Ballard had micro fracture surgery. He ain't coming back this year. He may never be back. Worth a risk, but no guarantees with that type of surgery.
