I realize BB was the brains behind shutting down the "K Gun" offence in the Giants-Bills superbowl, but it seems to be deeper than that, just wondering on a bye week....

Because Bill's a Bon Jovi fan?

I didn't realize he did. And I'd think he'd be more bothered by the fact that buffalo hasn't won the divisions since 1995.

Since 1996 here's a total of the division winners
0 Buffalo
1 Indy
2 Jets
2 Miami
11 New England (3-3 in SB appearances)

Kelly did call Brady the best ever so there's that.

BB publicly is not a very likable guy if you haven't noticed. I don't care, he is a great coach and that is what I want out of a Coach. Who was more likable than McPherson?

BB is gruff, condescending, unwilling to give 95 percent of talking heads anything other than X and Os. And is not willing to be politically correct. I am sure Kelly respects him as a coach, just does not like him as a guy.

It could be just that BB may have said something disparaging about Kelly to someone and it got back to him.

His private personna is completely different from his HC personna... doubt if he disparaged Kelly, that is not something he does..

Ask Nick Saban, Jimmy Johnson, Tony LaRussa, Pepper Johnson, Jim Brown, Ozzie Newsome, Jon Bon Jovi and many others who know him off the gridiron and have a deep respect for him..

The reason why he does not like the press is because of stupid questions and because it is another silly NFL rule... remember when Bedard came in here a few years ago, and asked BB where he kept his Superbowl Rings??? It is all downhill from there...

If any reasonable person had to deal with the likes of Borges, Felger and the rest of the mediots that inundate our airwaves and print media.. that person may tend to be a lot gruff as well.

Well, aren't you curious where BB keeps his rings? I consider Sports news to be less news and more entertainment. Part of being a sports reporter is providing interesting information to your reading/viewing group. We all know BB would never turn on the overhead projector and give a detailed X's and O's on his strategies, nor would he talk about injuries or other data that would potentially provide an opponent with information. Reporters have to earn a living and there is only so many Mike Reiss-types (media voice for the team) you can have in a city. When a reporter asked, "Can't you gauge yourself better against better teams with better records?" during the week the Pats played the winless Colts, BB ripped her a new one…hence the benign, yet fan-interest peaking "where do you store your rings?"

I like BB as my coach…but I have no idea how he'd react if I stopped him on the street to shake his hand and thank him or take a picture with him.

As for Belichamp's personal side, he does seem like the type of guy that could be funny if he wanted. I can't say for sure. The only person I know who knows him at all thinks he's a jerk, but he works in sports media. According to him, when Belichamp refers to the press he'll usually refer to them as "those ******oles."

I think his feelings about the mediots goes much deeper than just dealing with the Borges' and Felgers' of the world. Before he even sat down to DO HIS JOB he was called "duplicitous pond scum" by a local writer, and that came after he was abused by the NY mediots for leaving the Jets.

That, combined with his leave-no-stone-left-unturned attitude toward winning, has him coaching his players and coaches what not to say to the media and how to take them down dead-ends. That was in Pepper Johnson's book Won For All.

When you win you can get away with that stuff.

BB is not a nice guy and he even admits it. When discussing Parcells and himself he said: "We are both *****holes". He is cold and ruthless with personnel decisions but his jobs demands it. I would not want to work for him...

If he was an ******* outside of football, it would be well documented. Word gets around Nantucket really fast. Football, he is ruthless. Cuts the last man on the roster the day before the Superbowl (I applaud).

My brother-in-law has worked on the field for home games since 1999. He says it's been his experience that BB is unfailingly polite, friendly and gracious to everyone. In addition, my B-I-L says that BB is particularly nice to the "little people", meaning those whose jobs are not high profile. That's the only means I have of judging him in that area.

A friend of mine had a son who went to school with BB's kid and they played on the same lacrosse team. This guy said BB was just like every other parent, attending games when he could and was very down to earth......FWIW

As for Kelly, Belichick cost him a Super Bowl ring ( actually it was Norwood but let's not get technical) and has been one of the reasons that his Bills have been largely irrelevant the last dozen years or so. Jealousy, bitterness??? Who knows. you could ask the same question about a former Denver Linebacker or Rams RB who are both talking heads on Sunday. Why do they seem to 'hate the Pats"? Actually who cares. Next question, to paraphrase Drew R.

It's my impression that people BB has outsmarted who don't know him well dislike him. Anyone who knows him well who is not a member of the media seems to think he is a great guy. Interesting point above about the 'little people." I remember the story a few years ago about a guy involved in an auto accident on Route 495. I believe he was injured and having trouble getting out of his car. The next thing he knows BB is pulling him out and helping him until the police/ambulance arrive, but BB disappears before there can be any publicity about it. That tells me a lot about BB. Most people would call 911 on their cell phones and keep driving.

That's my guess. Didn't Jimmy Johnson say something about Kelly turning the ball over before their first Super Bowl when NFL Films followed them? He's good buddies with Belichick and they might have discussed him prior to that Super Bowl. Since, BB beat him two years earlier.

On the contrary Fred you'd LOVE to work for him. Who wouldn't want to work for a boss who gives you all the tools and support you need to get the job done. Provides you with great business advice and lessons to success. And above all is EGOless. Gives you all the credit when credit is due. Takes all the blame when blame is due.

Sure he'll fire your ass when you are too old, lazy or incompetent to do the job without a thought. But so what, I'd trade the latter for the former every time....and so would you. Don't tell me you rather have a Rex Ryan type boss. You know the guy who will drink with you slap you on the back, and be your buddy. But then send you to the meeting with a bad presentation, and if you manage to make the sale, will take all the credit for the work.

You know the more I think of it the more I appreciate BB's "egolessness". I don't think there is a another HC in the NFL who shuns the spotlight more than Bill. If he had his way we'd never hear from him. Ernie Adams is his hero and I'd bet Bill would love to has his kind of anonymity. You'd be hard pressed to find text where he uses the pronoun "I".

He is the polar opposite of the Harbaugh brothers, both of whom love the spotlight.

from past interviews I have gathered that he loves brady but despises BB . Whetherit be because of his game plan to mug the receivers during the superbowl or something else , I don't know but the OP is right. He does hate BB.Even his comments during the spygate stuff were pretty anti bb.

Put the focus more on Kelly. He needs to keep up his marketing/sponsorships by popping up every once in a while and saying something. After living in the Buffalo area for 8 years, I've heard several negative anecdotes about Kelly from general conversation with people who dealt with him personally.

Frack that! I would!!!

That would make me a Patriot!!

Fred "The Christmas Donkey" Smerlas loves JK, which is understandable since they were teammates. However, that does provide some insight into what type of guy JK is.
