Bruschi on secondary: "Error repeaters"

I am astounded at how insightful some of the comments below the article were

I would like to see Bruschi go into this a little more and include more examples, as given the example he used it seems like it might be lazy analysis. All of Patriot nation saw the two plays he is refering to and had already knew the same mistake was made twice. I would have liked him to get into more examples and really prove the trend and prove that it was more then just one player.

I agree. In his example, you're talking about a rookie safety (a notoriously heady position), biting on an initial move twice. That's not necessarily something that can be drilled out of a player overnight. That's an instinctual thing (IMO) that comes with more experience. At this moment, I wouldn't consider those plays a sign that Wilson isn't smart enough to understand the coaching, or isn't willing to listen. I think it's just the case of a young player having a weakness due to his inexperience.

I'm sure there are other examples, so I agree I wish he had given us more technical breakdowns.

Not sure how much I agree with his analysis.

I find it hard to believe that's the only reason why they've been the worst pass defense for 5 years now.

The only player at this point who could play in any other NFL secondary is McCourty. Our young players have shown zero improvement.

You're severely overestimating safety play around the league if you think that there aren't plenty of teams that would be happy to have Wilson, based on what he's shown so far. He's made mistakes, but he's also made some great plays, and he's athletic.

You mean the "Tedy has zero concept of why games are won or lost?" by a patsfaninburgh?

What a douchebag. Glad we banned him

Thanks a lot. Your post caused me to go and read some of them. I'm convinced I've been permanently brain-damaged

You're absolutely correct. I would give Wilson more credit when I see him more. What we have seen is a very small sample size. He has shown potential for sure but he has also had a couple (to be expected from a rook) gaffes.

Bill feels the same way about error repeaters as we do then!

As for the comments, I read the first one then stopped...

"Tedy has zero concept why football games are won and lost. "

Mmmmm :bricks:

Well, they haven't been the worst pass defense for 5 years now. That just goes to show how you haven't been paying attention.

They've given up the most passing TDs since 08.
