If Chandler Jones simply duplicates what he did in the first half he'd finish the year with,
66 Tackles
12 Sacks
6 Forced Fumbles
6 Tackles for a Loss
4 Pass Defended

I believe he will be even better in the second half and exceed all of those projections. He is an absolute freak and likely the biggest raw talent on defense in the entire NFL.

This kid is going to run away with the DROY award and that is just the tip of the iceberg of what he can do in the NFL.

The thing I love about him is how stout he is against the run. He's very disciplined for a guy that young.

Would be a top 5 pick in a redraft.

His stats would have been better had the refs called the penalties on the opposing OL

Step away from your bong as it is affecting the way your brain functions in such a negative way.

I'm trying not to get too high on him just yet, but I have to agree with this. I think after having seen some of him in real game action, I bet many NFL GM's would take him in the top 5.

When you called him a freak, you reminded me of Jevon Kearse.

Hopefully he doesn't become Kearse and fall off the map 3-4 years into his career.

I could see an offensive player running away with it.

I think Jones is just slamming it into the ground. We'll have to see if he gets more respect from the refs as the season wears on (as that's the only way they can not be making some of those holding calls). Might have to call him Ox because he's big and strong and the o-linemen are trying to throw a yoke around his neck so he can drag them along.

It would have to be a damn good offensive player to run away with Defenive Rookie of the Year. :p

Associated press has given out an offensive and defensive ROY since 1967.

I agree. Certainly hope Jones lasts longer then Kearse.

However in Kearse's 6 of his first 7 seasons he had 7.5 or more sacks and the season he didn't he got injured.

His 1st 3 seasons he was a monster....

Guess it went a little wide. Offensive player running away with it as you think of offenses as running more (though they all run about equally)...literally running. The mention of Jones slamming it into the ground meaning, I agree, but instead of running away he slams it...slam dunk, ...

really takes away when you have to explain it :D

Seriously. I don't understand how offensive lines simply do not get called for holding vs this kid, even when it looks blatantly obvious.

Maybe we should pull a Polian and cry to the Competition Committee.

I hope you are right. But it would not be surprising for Jones to hit the rookie wall and have his production tail off as the seasons progresses. I'd be very happy with 10 sacks, 4 FF's etc.
I love this kid.

Interesting. I just remember him being literally a freak his first 2-3 seasons. I never heard much of him when he went to Philly.

The worst was the Baltimore game. It was like every play and aggravating as hell. It's gotten better since the real refs got back but he still gets the rookie treatment from them. I think when he earns super star treatment thing will be different.

I can understand the usual grabbing and stuff not getting called...but when you see him in a damn chokehold with no call its ridiculous
