If Da Bears win I'll feel 1,000 times better about last week

I still don't buy into that run defense by the Indianapolis Colts. The Patriots completely abandoned the running game in the second half after gaining 80+ yards in the first half. How does one of the worst rush defenses in NFL history turn it around so quickly in the playoffs does not compute. I hope the Chicago Bears run the ball right down their throats as was the case against the overrated New Orleans defense.

Your post makes an excellent point, and hopefully Lovie sees the fact that the AFCCG was more about the Pats giving up their run rather than Indy's defense being so outstanding. I wish we had continued to pound them and if Lovie does what we didn't do,that Indy defense is eventually going to give.
I don't buy it either, and neither should Smith. At least take a shot at exposing it-sooner or later it's rep for being porous should show itself.

You're not alone. Nothing changes the fact that the Pats didn't seal the deal and the Colts losing Sunday wouldn't make me feel better about it. I don't like the Colts but they won fair and square, and if they win the SB they have earned it.

this is more or less what i think too...
i care only about us
i don't care about the other teams

i would have really wanted the payback after 21 years to the Bears

pity and sad we were unable to make a revenge for the 'old' Patriots version 1985

Colts-Bears for me it doesn't matter

No matter who wins, I will still feel sick about last week. Whoever wins, I will be nauseated knowing how close we were, and that the trophy should be ours.

I was rooting hard last yr for Pitt to lose, because I hate the Steelers.. I think its safe to say that the game of us not being there when we were so close to going is the most frustrating thing us Pats fans have felt in a long while...With that being said , Go Bears...

Does anyone agree?

Imagine if Peyton Chokes huge in this game and the Bears win.
He will have won nothing...not a damn thing.

Then next year they lose a bunch of players and it's back to the beginning.
They would have blown their best chance for HorseFace McGee to get a ring.

If the Bears beat them i would be thrilled. It would make everything better.
And it would mean Manning choked yet again, on the biggest of stages.

I don't know why everyone is acting like he already won the Superbowl

My personal opinion is I would rather lose to the eventual Superbowl champion it kind of eased the pain for me after the Pats kicked our ass two years in a row but ended up winning the Superbowl. I would hate to lose to a team then watch that same team go out and get there butt kicked in the next game, that just makes your team look that much worse. Just my two cents for what its worth..

If the Colts win or lose. It will be Peyton came close last year, he's gonna win it this year.

If they win it will be ...Peyton is going to repeat. This is the start of the colts dynsty.

my enjoyment will not be in if they lose the superbowl but seeing them be so close to the cap and having to let players go and not being able to bring in any big names and drafting 31 or 32

the pats already beat the bears, so i'm fine with the bears winning. i just hope it is a competitive game on both sides.

Oh I forgot you already played the Bears...so it would be easier for the Pats to want to see the Colts get there asses handed to them which I totally understand...

let's just hope it's still a game either way at halftime. we've been lucky the past several years on competitive superbowls. I'll still be sick thinking the pats were 3 minutes away from going.

I really don't understand this sentiment. Only blowing a 50 pt. lead could make the Pats look worse than they did last Sunday (blew an 18 pt lead - the biggest in playoff history). It certainly wouldn't ease my pain for the team that embarrassed the Pats to win the championship (and make the embarrassing moment a relevant part of NFL history rather than a trivia question). Colts getting whipped would ease the pain a little. Don't worry though, Chicago isn't equipped offensively to whip the Colts so you can make preparations for your parade.

I didn't mean any disrespect towards the Pats or Pats fans in my post, thats just they way I like to root for things to happen, so actually I have been a Pats fan in all 3 of your SB victories, the first SB I was rooting for you because of all the years of crappy teams you had and to finally win it I thought it was great for football to see the Pats win..and the other two was after you kicked the Colts asses....

I guess I'm the only person in all of Patsfansland who respects Manning for his performance last week. He made great throws under intense pressure and that gets credit with me. If he wins, he'll deserve it.

If the Colts lose Sunday, the win against the Patriots means absolutely nothing. NOTHING.

Originally, I didn't care if the Colts were to win the Super Bowl despite my burning hatred of the Colts. But as the week went on, I couldn't help but feel the Colts didn't deserve to be in the Super Bowl anymore than we did, thus I am now rooting for the Bears.

EXACTLY MY feeling, which is one of the reasons I hope the Colts lose.

Indycoltsfan - I wasn't offended by your comments (i've read your other posts and it's obvious that you go out of your way to be polite) but just don't understand that point of view. I'm probably too obsessed with getting revenge :D .

Another reason to root for Da Bears :rocker:
As a Colts fan though, you have to be somewhat glad about finally winning the AFC.

No Manning did everything you could ask of him, its just I thought we did enough to win the game...Manning has alot of my repsect..

I can look at it both ways. If the Bears win: It means we beat the Super Bowl champs during the regular season 2 years in a row, which shows we are as good as any team. [2] It means that Manning will still be looked upon as a choker. [3] This might send the Colts into a tailspin to get so close and loose. If the Colts win: [1] Its seems every team that wins the Superbowl [other than the Patriots] lately seems to fail the next year the Colts could do the same. [2] It sounds like the Colts have cap problems next year. Winning the Superbowl could make this worse[ Superbowl MVP demands big raise] [3] It will once again show the superiority of the AFC. [4] It proves the only thing that can stop the Pats is a very very good team at home [aided by the officials].
