I'm about as big a Welker fan as you'll find on this board but, if that trade offer was coming from anything but a top 5 team, I'd probably pull the trigger faster than Bob Munden.

I'd trade Brady for that.

And if the offer was from a top 5 team you'd think about it?? Welker's been great for us, but he's also a 31 year old slot receiver who's taken a huge amount of punishment in recent years.

...and if the team pulled the trigger you'd have as many posts as "The Jets Still Suck". :p

Hes having such a great year too.

Gawd I hate trade talk
Remember when folks here guaranteed, yes guaranteed we'd get two (2) firsts for Mattie Cassel?

I'd trade Brady for that.

Its a king's ransom for sure but not for Brady..timing isn't right.

Trading away WW is one thing.

Trading away your franchise QB while the team is still a SB contender is another...

Cowboys traded this guy named Herschel Walker for a bunch of high draft picks in the late 80s and won 3 Super Bowls in the 90s.

Cowboys were not going to win a SB and HW is not a HoF QB having a MVP season.

Did you just compare Tom Brady to Herschel ******* Walker??

You think about trading Brady in a deal that brings back Andrew luck as part of the compensation.

That's it. There's not another trade out there that's worth even thinking about giving Brady up for.

That's a very good point. Anyway we're just talking theoretical and as someone very interested in the draft, those picks would make my interest more..interesting.

Err no he wasn't. He was making the point that a significant trade haul sets a team up for a generation potentially.

Of course but it was a reply/response to my post about not trading Brady- not now.

If this was 2000 and BB had TB at 35 years old and was staring a 5-11 season in the face (Jimmy Johnson went 1-15) then you pull the trigger on that deal.

Just curious, I wonder how many Pats fans said that about Bledsoe, Packers fans about Favre or 49'ers fans about Montana.

And no, I'm not comparing Brady to Favre and Bledsoe, just making the point that these transitions have to happen at some time. Now is not that time, but a year, two. This discussion could very well be had then.
