Then why hasn't the D looked good in all the other games this season when we've been up by double digits?

This game shows that the team has room to improve. We don't have to freak out, push the reset button, and denounce the entirety of BB's defensive philosophy just yet. The young defense still has room to get better.

Because the Pats scored a TD every time they touched the ball for five consecutive times. In the other games, drives stalled and the the other teams caught up. This game was all about the offense.

i have my own weighting system:

week 1 thru 20 (18 games played): 0%
week 21: 100%

but in all seriousness, what is this weighted score system that weighs the latter half more? are you suggesting the games in december are a better barometer than September games? why? a 10-6 record with 0 December wins gets you in the playoffs before a 9-7 record with 4 December wins.

No, no, no.

The defense peaked over the first 8 games, in large part, because that's when the offense gave them the greatest cushion and the opposing team tossed in the towel. Past wk 8? The offense cooled at bit, there were some very close games (played for a fill 60 mins), and the defense really fell off considerably. Hence, the weighted ranking at 19th....

That and #32 had a great game for us as well (and no, not Devin McCourty).

Dieon Branch may have showed up with 0 catches and 1 target, but 2 of those PI calls were when he was getting the pass from tB.

To Deions credit, those were both good calls.

Fletcher really needs to learn how to defend a pass.

Newsflash for you. This wasn't the first game Bequette had taken snaps in.

Ninkovich didn't play poorly the first three weeks. Only the inept who don't know jack about the defense were making those claims.

For real? He didn't record a single stat in week one...barely showed up week two or three either. He was very lak lustre at the start of the season.

I think the point is that playing better going into the playoffs is better than starting strong and limping in.

You're right... but you wouldn't call Ray Lewis a murderer, and wouldn't call anyone from the Jets a clown to their face either, would you?

Yet both happen at this forum on a daily basis. I guess there's a double standard (homerism) when it comes to a Pats player.

No there is just a wide range of maturity levels on this board.:D

I haven't called Ray Lewis a murderer nor have I called anyone from the Jets a clown, but you did call Brace a baby. So don't try to put me in the same cowardly category in which you reside.

Ninko has been great this year

And I'm guessing, as bad as he's been, more people will remember him and his career than will remember you and yours. But, I could be wrong.

Not sure if that's a good thing in Ronnie's case.

Ah yes. The true colors come out in this, the ultimate hypocrite / ignorant post. You point out "the techno, twitter, text , sissy, coward mentality in which you can call anyone anything without having the balls to face them" and then immediately start in on some faceless stranger over the Internet. Thank you for doing exactly what you pissed and moaned about earlier.

You know I'm right.

Sam Bradford still went 23-31. They obviously played much better than they had in recent weeks, but St. Louis barely has any weapons in the passing game.

citing the completion percentage is one of the worst arguments to discredit the defense.

You simpleton! It might have looked like he was getting stonewalled to your untrained eye but to us(that know jack) he was in fact setting the edge.

Hehe

As has been mentioned previously, the front seven playing dominant football can do a lot to somewhat mask the definiciencies in the secondary. It also never hurts to pay a team that isn't exactly known as a prolific passing offense. But I agree, it is something for the team to build on. Now they have two weeks until they play again to look at the tape from the game, find the issues they need to correct, and, most importantly, get healthy.

the rams passing offense is more prolific than the jets, bills, cardinals, and seahawks

FWIW, the pats passing defense is currently 28th (yardage) even though it has played passing offenses ranked 24th (rams), 25th (jets), 27th (cardinlas), 29th (bills), and 31st (seahawks)

so maybe yesterday's results are even more impressive

Maybe. I'm going to take a wait and see approach on it as of right now. The Rams were missing their primary threat and then their secondary threat was hurt at the beginning of the game. I'm extremely impressed with the play of the front seven, though, and thought it was interesting to see how the offensive explosion impacted them, then how they impacted the play in the secondary. If the front seven can keep up that kind of play, we should see an improvement in the defense and their numbers throughout the course of the season.

LMFAO.

Ninkovich had a terrible first 3 weeks. He admitted so himself. Watch the game vs. the Ravens and tell me he was playing good back then.

DaBruinz is a miserable ****. I don't know why Mods allow him to get away with acting like a jackass here.
