"Belichick gets a pass on behavior "

He got a pass on behavior? Maybe from Ordway, whom I don't know beans about, but the author Farinella goes on to crucify Bill and the Pats,

...and if you want your favorite team to become the most hated team in football for reasons other than their success, you're getting your wish.

And someone Bill could have had for a buddy:

I get the feeling that, as a kindred spirit, he would have gotten along quite well with Richard Nixon.

Will Bill go down more as "Paul Brown" than Bill Walsh, or Don Shula? Do we care? Lombardi, that's it, he 's most like Lombardi.

He was practically insulting to sideline reporter Solomon Wilcots during a post-game interview in which all coaches know they must participate as part of the NFL's contractual obligation with the televising networks.

We all saw that interview. Not one thing stood out about it. Not one.

But I guess if you say it was "insulting" and unprofessional over and over again, eventually people will listen. Especially those who didn't like Belichick in the first place.

Belichick ain't perfect, and there are plenty of legitimate flaws that a columnist can focus on - but this dog just doesn't fly.

This crap cracks me up. Parcells is loved by the media even though I think he insults them more then anyone but because he does it with a smile and "entertains" them. They kiss his ass. I think he actually gives less info then BB does on occasion. He just dances around it better.

This guy is criticizing Glen Ordway for actually LIKING Bill Belichick. I listened to the Big Show on Monday. They spent much of the show trying to get the point across that Belichick is a good person. Not the boor the media is trying to make him out to be. What they said about Belichick was sincere, genuine. Shame on anyone who would criticize someone for standing up for a friend. What an ass this guy is. Who's the Bully?

If Bill Belichick is getting a "pass," I wonder what it's like when the media goes after a guy?

I'm telling ya, it's Bill Polian. He's got all those guys on his payroll.

We should neither post nor read this horse puckey. It only encourages ***clowns like this guy.

Maybe the writer should stick with writing about high school sports, where somebody gives a rats ass about his opinions.

As far as I am concerned...."show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser". I went through enough losing years (yup all 42) and it sucks.

The last thing I want to see or hear is the coach of my favorite football team all happy and congratulatory after a gut wrenching loss such as last Sunday.

He knows they blew it and should be deep in preparation right now for next Sunday - instead, he will prepare to improve upon things for next year and that is exactly what I prefer.

Articles like this are becoming far too prevalent lately;maybe it's the media's idea of The Band Of Brothers. BBB shoved a cameraman so suddenly this is the crap we read.
Boston media would love to see Belichick run out of town, in hopes they'd have a more media-friendly coach to follow around. They're using everything in their power to stir it up,too.
BigBadBill may be hated, but any team would take him in a nanosecond.End of story.

I just think this sucks. Everyone points out the quick handshake with Peyton Manning. Does anyone talk about what appeared to me to be a genuine hug for Tony Dungy? No. B/c trash like this guy just want to be seen as perfect.

This country would be in a lot better shape if we didn't have negative scum like this running around and having the power of the "airwaves".

Add this so called guy to the list of "Dress Wearing Losers " and other women who cover this Team!

The media loves the double standard. Manning calls Belichick and the entire organization classy after the game, but because the handshake didn't look good on TV, he's evil and a despicable person.

Remember the Borges article about Dungy? I dunno, I would much rather have a guy like Belichick who gets digusted when he loses than not care the way Dungy does.

I'd really rather fire the entire Patriots media coverage (except Reiss !) than see one more critical article from any of these selfish bastards.

The source of their complaining and animus is all about how he makes their job tougher to do...

Too efin Bad !!!

Add Mark Farinella to the list of those thousands of sports reporters who don't think or write particularly well. Perhaps this is not entirely their fault--perhaps they are not very intelligent to start with, and are never encouraged to improve.

But such people should at least hold themselves to the same standards, instead of reeking of hypocrisy, and stinking of laziness. Do some research.

George Halas? Farinella gives no indication of knowing anything at all about the great Fritz Pollard's deeply pained relationship with Halas, largely it seems on account of Halas' discomfort with Pollard's skin color.

Parcells and Lombardi are legendary bullies, who terrified sportswriters in their heyday.

Holmgren's performance after last year's Super Bowl has to be one of the most embarrassing displays of poor sportsmanship by a coach in years. And Don Shula is now the paragon of virtue among coaches?

Please...all these men were great coaches, but none were saints. All were on occasion abusive, rude, paranoid, controlling, fierce. Yet all were winners.

And as for the numerous factoids in his column...they are bordering on the libelous. Belichick is consistently generous with praise toward all opponents, not demeaning. He congratulated Dungy effusively. Did he even see Manning on the field? His relationship with Mangini is strained for reasons having as much to do with Mangini as Belichick. He has consistently taken the high road regarding the obnoxious comments made by Tomlinson and others following the Charger game.

Farinella has failed his readers and himself. A small-fry among the smallest, a puny jackal skulking near the edge of the pack, hoping for a snip at the injured lion's neck.

I wonder why you feel compelled to insult women to make your point. Wasn't a woman reporter, Sharlise Manza Young recently cited on this board as one of the better reporters to cover the Pats?

If Bill Belichick is getting a "pass," I wonder what it's like when the media goes after a guy?
I know, exactly, he's getting a 'pass' from no one, certainly no one in the media. Has this guy been paying attention?

Eh, let 'em say what they want. They've been chafed since 2001 that he's not a good interview, but basically his job is not to be a good interview, it's to be a good coach.

My opinion is, he's always acted pretty much the same way, but this is the first time since 2001 he hasn't won a SB 2 years in a row... so he previously was not targeted.

Now all the bile is coming out.

Ever notice how Nick Saban is being taken seriously, despite the track record, when he talks glowingly about the energy in college vs. pro football? And that guy use to ping any stiff unlucky enough to ask him a question.

But Miami wasn't a Goliath, and taking a stab at Saban would just be silly. It doesn't matter if the coach of Miami is a boor. What matters is if the coach of the previously "oh so classy, almighty" Patriots is a boor. Even though a couple years ago he was a genius, and that was all the media had to say.

Same guy, different day. Different take.

The variable is, you can't argue with a regular Super Bowl winner, but you can take a whack at a guy you perceive to be on his way down.

Something tells me neither that trendline, nor the media's collective response to it, will continue.

Except he doesn't really know anything about high school sports either. Since I get the Sun Chronicle daily, I've had to read his garbage the last 10 years. There's a reason that he's been at one of the smallest newspaper's in the state for that long.

If he stuck to H.S. Women's Basketball, he'd do..okay.

The other part I loved was the one about giving info to the media so it can be translated to the fans. Like we need the majority of the media to translate anything to us.

I was not insulting women but these "Media Members" who care more about "Feelings" than truth or actions certainly aren't "Real Men". and certainly don't have a Football Mentality".Feel free to call them what You will but I have First Amendment rights too and I call things as I see them.
