Everyone remembers the head scratching move Andy Reid made last season when he promoted Juan Castillo from Offensive Line coach to Defensive Coordinator. WHAT?!!!

Maybe we're not that much better. Last year, Matt Patricia was our Safeties coach. We all know how great our Safeties were last year.:violent: So this year BB goes along and promotes him to DC?!!:bricks:

Chime in with your thoughts on this WTF move.

No comparison at all.

Patricia was already DC last season, he just didn't have the official title yet.

It's really no comparison at all for so many reasons.

But I also think the OP and Eagles fans need to re-think what's going on in Philly. Castillo was the fall guy but it isn't going to fix the real problems.

The 2011 Eagles defense was 8th in yards allowed (324.9) and 10th in points allowed (20.5), while tying for the lead league in sacks.

The 2012 Eagles defense is 8th in yards allowed (330.8) and 10th in points allowed (20.8), but are second-last in the league in sacks.

Despite the significant drop in sacks, the team is giving up only 6 yards more per game and 0.3 points more per game. And this despite dealing with a massive negative turnover differential due to Vick's carelessness (the Eagles lead the NFC in giveaways).

Meanwhile, this year's offense is currently ranked 15th in yards (4th in 2011) and 30th in points scored (8th in 2011).

But yeah, Juan Castillo was the problem... :bricks:

I didn't say anything about Philly's offense.

why one star?

because zero stars isn't a choice

How about the fact that you don't even have Patricia's job correct to open the thread? He was the LB coach and unofficial DC last year. Josh Boyer was the DB coach the 3 years prior to this one. This year he's dealing specifically with the CBs with Brian Flores dealing with the Safeties.

So, the whole premise of the thread is bogus before you even get to the erroneous comparison to the Eagles situation.

How many more threads are we going to have that gripe about coaching when nobody here has the slightest clue about how well the coaches below BB and the coordinators, other than Scar, are doing their jobs?

It's best not to associate the Patriots with anything related to the disaster called the Philadelphia Eagles...

Can we swap the Eagles secondary with ours?

The Eagles defense isn't thier problem, the QB is,he likes giving the ball away to the other team.

The Eagles and Patriots only have one thing in common, they lack playmakers but in different areas,Philly lacks a QB,NE lacks a DB

That's about it.

Matt Patricia was calling the plays last year to, what the Eagles did was a WTF move

Some folks really think that BB does not notice this???

The season long easy fix, blame game, cointinues...

THis is Philly's main problem:
