Been worried as game day approaches. We only arrived 48 hours before the Game,,,whereas the Rams arrived 4 days before us. I have done Boston - London a few times, and after a night flight it takes me roughly two days to get over it 100% and get the time clock working normal. I wish they would have arrived on the wednesday rather than friday. Who am i to tell BB that but still my worry some of our players will feel it during the Game. Hope not,,,your thoughts please. GO PATS.

I think Bill timed it perfectly. I think Jeff paniced. We got in a normal week of practice under optimal conditions for the most part. His teams been on a road trip all week and practicing through jet lag. But since you're going to find something to worry about either way...have at it.

It's only 5 hours - 4 hours on game day because the clocks change this weekend.

You can almost still live on Eastern time in the UK and not miss much. If there's going to be a problem it will probably be when they get back to America.

They could just stay up until 3am (10pm Eastern - 11pm tomorrow) and get up at 11am (6am Eastern - 7am tomorrow) for example, that could work with the game starting at 5pm here.

They've done this in 09. I'm sure they got good advice on travel and travelled with plenty of space for the players to stretch their legs.

They will be fine.

That (jetlag) was my first thought as well when I read that they took a red eye and arrived at 7 am in London. Upon further review this is the same schedule when they played Tampa Bay three years ago and that worked out pretty well, a nearly flawless 35-7 victory.

Yeah....I think with Kraft as the owner, they would be flying in only the best.

They flew in on a Boeing 747-400. Think those suckers have a 600 seat capacity... the CBA stipulates players minimum seating of 2 or 3 seats per player. I'm sure they had whole rows to themselves on this baby. Doubt the traveling party topped 120. Brady exited the flight full sized pillow in hand. It's only a 6 hour flight, same as the left coast.

There's an article on nfl.com where Brady says most of the players slept during the flight too so jet lag will hardly be a factor, if at all.

Thanks guys,,,reading your replies has made me feel much better,,but now Vince is ill ,,arrghhh. Bye week can't come fast enough ! Please just get the W no matter how ugly it takes to get it. Cheers all and good luck tomorrow. Abdul

It's next weekend not this one.

The clocks change a week earlier in the UK.

It makes watching the prime time games a little bit better for a week :p

Just speaking from personal experience, last time I had jetlag that ish lasted at least a week. So I doubt a few days would make much of a difference even if it would.

They chartered a Virgin Atlantic 747 (Bob is mates with Richard Branson) which has over 300 seats. 50 odd of these are lie flat "suites" that stretch out to full size beds. The rest would have had either Premium economy seats or the whole economy cabin to themselves so plenty of room. Flown with them many times and they are great.

No probs with sleeping, but with that flight no matter how well you sleep there will be a certain amount of jetlag. They should be fine by Sunday evening UK time with plenty of rest.

I don't know about Jetlag but against the Jets, the team certainly 'lagged' at times

A mediot was talking on one of the shows yesterday.. said something to the effect that the pattern that the Patriots chose, was the one the winning team chose the last 3 out of 4 years..

When I used to travel over there, it wasn't too bad going over, it was coming back that made it tough. Plus, they can probably manage the schedule a little better.

I would trust they learned from their past experience and doing what's best.

My thought are the Pats have done this before and they know what works and what doesn't.

OK – my special subject here! I go across the Atlantic a lot, sometimes for short trips, sometimes for longer. Last weekend I left on Thursday evening (for Germany) came back on Sunday. Short answer: there’s no perfect solution. Longer: “jet lag” is complex. Your body/brain adjusts different things at different rates. My solution is to sleep as much as I can whenever I get tired (no artificial aids). Your body won’t adjust fully in a couple of days, but, with luck, you’ll be awake enough when you need to be. All in all: I don’t think that the Rams will be significantly better served (if at all) by an extra two days adjustment time and there are advantages to practising on home turf.

I've been to europe a few times and jetlag never hit me while going, it's when you get back that it's bad. Good thing we have the bye week after this game.

Only time I ever got jet lag was on a flight from Seattle to DC (4-5 hours). Got home around 8:30 feeling pretty tired, went out around 9 and partied all night anyway. Felt fine the next day and I'm no NFL athlete.

The flight to London from NE isn't much longer than that if I understand correctly (6 hours) so they're probably caught up already.

I think Fisher overestimated the effect of jet lag on this flight. It's not like you're flying to Japan.
