Breer: Hernandez doesn't make trip to London

can anyone confirm dowling making the flight?

I'm not too concerned. We are a beat up team, and guys need rest. Hernandez remarkably came back 4 weeks after suffering an ankle sprain. He's obviously not 100%, and he could use the additional week off for added rest and recovery. We need a healthy Hernandez for the second half of the season.

Could he have suffered a setback? Possibly. But he at least has 2 weeks to get right and rehab. He won't be the Hernandez of old until next season, probably, so it is imperative that he is rested when possible.

My friend's uncle's brother's girlfriend is a flight attendant, he was running late but made the flight. It was a close one but he got there just before they left the gate.

As per Mike Reiss' tweet,
"Looking into it Michael. Hernandez was expecting to become a dad. Could have stayed back for that & still be on the way. "

With the blocking skills of Julian Edelman, they've got this covered. Edelman to TE.

Problem solved.

I say we just clone 22 of him and field them all. 19-0 here we come. :rocker:

If that's the case, it would ease any concern of a setback.

Schefter has tweeted that it is indeed a setback (hopefully minor):

Aaron Hernandez's ankle has not responded to treatment. He's struggling to cut, will not play Sunday vs. Rams.

Lovely. He shouldn't have played in the Seahawks or Jets game.

With Dowling's injury prone/fragile background...he probably pulled a hammy running to the gate.....

He was obviously not himself in the past few games, so maybe this is just a cautious approach. There is no need to have him out there so soon where he can re-injure the thing. Rest him and prepare him for the long second half of the season.

Thanks, Doc.

Eh, he has a point. You could tell that he was still feeling it in Seattle. They probably *SHOULD* have sat him through the Bye but oh well. Hopefully he comes back after the Bye at 100%.

When I found out the injury I was hoping he'd be held out until after the bye, hope this setback isn't too major.
