Breer: Hernandez doesn't make trip to London

That's not good at all. Waiting to see Reiss confirm this as the team held a walk through in public and he didn't mention not seeing AHern.

Better letting him have off 2 weeks, the Rams are formidable but not exactly Super Bowl caliber and you can live without Aaron for another game and still win.

Time for Edelman to step it up and back to the run game

The real important games begin after the break, they'll need him more at that time.

May be they are resting him to give him time to completely recover from that ankle injury... i just they win this week .. hoping to see a healthy much better Pats offense after bye ... :)

I'm surprised it took until now for someone to notice his absence.

yeah it's better to give him more rest so he can potentially be 100% rather than working through it most of the season.

If it means having two big TEs at full health going into the playoff stretch run beginning in week 9,then hell, let Gronk sit too,we know his hip is not good.

I wonder if he had some major set back in his recovery or a re-aggravation. Hopefully they're just being cautious.

Hope he didn't get re-injured. There was absolutely no need whatsoever to rush him back. :(

A bit unfortunate because the Rams weakness on defense is at safety and outside linebacker; areas I felt the Pats could take advantage of with two and three tight end sets. While they can still run those formations they are obviously more efficient and productive with Hernandez than with Fells.

Smart move I'm cool with this and hope its true. Let him rest up two weeks and be good to go for a final run. Kinda hoping Mankins don't play either, let him heal too.

Well, the offense had arguably it's two best games without Aaron, so while this is a big loss, it doesn't necessarily mean we'll struggle. Better to rest him now with a bye-week coming up, no need to make him travel all the way to London to play 20 snaps.

Me too. I am more worried about a re-injury. If it's for extra rest I have no worry. I think the Pats can get by the Rams without Aaron.

Shiancoe will play a similar role and he's a pretty good player.

No, its time for Daniel Fells to step up. He doesn't have Hernandez's athleticism, but he does have some proven offensive skills, just not proven thus far this season (though IIRC he did make one great catch of a deep ball)

This team is a bit banged up. Lots of guys limited in practice and playing hurt. The bye can't come too soon for this group. (though byes suck for fans)

Was Shiancoe activated to the 53-man roster?

I don't think he can be until week 10.

If this is a re-injury then it is definitely time to evaluate and make changes to the coaching staff. There was no reason to rush him back and now they may lose him for even more time. I don't understand what happened to Belichick's critical thinking abilities. It's honestly like he is starting to hit senility.

Not sure Shiancoe is activated yet, I expect to see Fells out there though.
