BB's breakdown, of the last play that sealed the win this past sunday. Niko gets all the credit, but the unsung hero is Jamie Cunningham, this guy should be in the conversation for come back player of the year! Anyone remember in his rookie year, he did the same thing in the last play of the game against the man with the giant forehead? Result is Manning has to throw the ball just half a sec too soon and ends up to be a game winning INT. This time Cunningham actually gets to the QB and Niko end up getting the game winning strip sack. Glad he has a habit of showing up at the most important time of the game, not just for once!:rocker:

Jermaine?

:rocker:

That's how his name is spelled on wiki....

Jermaine Cunningham comeback player of the year?

Someone forgot about a quarterback for the Denver Broncos.

No doubt Manning will be getting that but Jermaine has been playing well/better this year.

Comeback players of the year should be reserved for those who went through situations like Manning. Not for players that went through situations like Cunningham.

Right now Peyton is first in line for Comeback Player of the year,
MVP,
SB MVP,
ProBowl MVP,
Rookie of the year,
Best Defensive player of the year..
did i miss any category ?

Anyone who didn't immediately realize that fumble was pretty much all Cunningham was either:

A) Not watching

-or-

B) Doesn't understand football very well

It's still nice to hear the words out of BB's mouth though.

Also, on that play look at the blatant hands to the face on Jets RT Austin Howard to Rob Ninkovich. Other DEs (Mario Williams I think?) have complained about that already this year, not sure why he's getting away with it.

They look very similar but something is slightly different...

Oh it's the haircut!

I was pretty sure Jones was going to be decapitated the way Ferguson was doing that to him over and over

Because Manning was injured, but Cunningham was injured?

I've been saying all season that the guys should be on the field more, and I'm sticking to it.

But , but he is a bust and we should have drafted Dunlap :bricks:

Good to see him improve so much. His attitude seems to be spot on. Long may it continue

You appear to be ignorant to what exactly Cunningham's situation last year was.

Forgive me, but what is Cunningham coming back to? His rookie form of 1.0 sacks?

I am as excited as anyone that Cunningham might be one of those second round defenders that works out. But I'm confused by the 'comeback' discussion. He had one sack his rookie season.

I think the more appropriate discussion might be 'year three jump.'

Jermaine is really the key to getting an effective pass-rush. We already have Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich, now all we need is Cunningham to step up and be consistent.

That wasn't what I was responding to.
And if you think Cunninghams rookie year is summed up by the number of sacks he had, you are ill-informed. First of all, he played in a rotation, playing much more in the base D than in sub. He played very well vs the run. He created decent and consistent pressure, despite a low sack total. He had a strong rookie season. You can't judge all players with a statsheet.

He's been good in the reps he got but am I the only one who thinks he failed to set the edge on run plays quite a few times?
