Considering the state of the team the last few weeks perhaps the low number of players that were missing today should be considered a good thing and move in the right direction.

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: The Blitz » » Four players missing from today’s Patriots walkthrough

Four players were missing. Defensive back Ras-I Dowling, who suffered an undisclosed injury against the Jets, was not present. Also missing and not among the participants was running back Brandon Bolden (knee), who walked through the locker room earlier today with a sleeve on his left leg, safety Steve Gregory (hip) and linebacker Tracy White (foot).

Mike Rivera was in the locker room also. I would guess that means he's being added to the Practice Squad (one opening with Tarpinian being promoted to the 53-man roster) rather than an indication that he's taking White's place.

Nice. So Chung will be back on the field and back to being just a second too late to the play. :p

Anyone still want to argue Dowling isn't injury prone?

just a walk-through, so things might look differently tomorrow.

and please BB give mankins some rest: I think sitting him this week, even not taking him on the trip, will be very beneficial towards the end of the season.

Ah the infamous Glass IR Dowling. I hope he can stay on the field I'd like to see Arrington as sparingly as possible.

If you want Arrington off the field, it's probably more important that Chung/Gregory are back than Dowling.

From what I have seen,Dowling is not a big loss

I completely agree. Bill effed-up (again), big-time, by not placing oldMankin$ on the PUP list to start the season. The J-E-S-T game should've been his first, and he'd have been closer to 100% healthy for the rest of the year as he will ever be now. Instead, he continues to deteriorate on a week-by-week basis, and will almost certainly be a salary-cap casuality by the start of 2014.

In other equally shocking news, the sun rose this morning!!!

What a waste of a great pick (33rd). Given the amount of draft picks BB has spent on this secondary, why is it, that his starting lineup in made up of mostly undrafted rookie free agents? Hell he could have made the picks by throwing darts at the secondary draft board and still would have come out better his picks!

Watching Dirty Sanchez light them up was stomach turning. Can't he find at least one solid guy in the secondary?

Just about every practice is a walk through, the CBA dictates that.. one of the reasons that our D backfield is slow to develop.. games become padded practices.. except there are no do overs.

Dowling has nt disappointed. He really is injury prone. If he was a boxer on Punchout he'd be Glass Joe with the 1-99 record.

didn't think about that honestly, you're right. :bricks:

I'm not yet, but if Dowling washes out be sure to remind everyone that you called it here so you can get full credit.

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: The Blitz»» Jerod Mayo misses first practice of season

Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo missed his first practice of the season today after suffering an injury during Sunday’s victory against the Jets. Mayo injured his left arm in the second quarter and remained on the sideline for a few minutes before returning in the third quarter with a black wrap on his elbow.

The Patriots also practiced without safety Steve Gregory, defensive end Trevor Scott, running back Brandon Bolden, linebacker Tracy White and cornerback Ras-I Dowling. Scott was also out for the first time this season.

Gregory, Bolden, White and Dowling were also absent during yesterday’s walkthrough, which isn’t a good sign for their availability in Sunday’s game. Scott and Dowling were injured Sunday, too. White walked through the locker room today without a walking boot on his foot, so he has progressed.

Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, who can’t play until Week 10 because he’s on short-term injured reserve, practiced in shells for the first time.

Umm, Mayo would be a pretty big loss.
