man our media loves and 'wants' us to be loser's and is happy when they are right...2 seasons with a SB and suddenly brady is out of super magic...
just have the sinking feeling that he's been to his last Super Bowl. That, while he'll still be very good, he may not be quite good enough - like Dan Marino, who never got back to the Super Bowl after his second season.

You only get so many chances. And Brady may have had his last one.

quite disgusting for writers who cover a team which has given so much to just throw out these 'sinking' feelings. We say the national media doesnt give us much respect..well when our locals are like this then...

They might be right. But, it's not because of anything Brady is doing.

clarification: Jim Donaldson is an idiot, not the one who posted the thread. In case I wasnt clear

It's ironic that the last play of the Colts game was to Ben Watson where brady has gotten in trouble trying to force it.

the colts were in prevent mode. they should have spiked it after the evans catch and taken the underneath stuff until they got close.

Im not second guessing Tom Brady... Period

That's why the guy writes for the eagle tribune and not the globe, the times or a bigger publication like USA today...he's an idiot!

Jim Donaldson is a ProJo writer, usually one of those obscure guys who languish in this mid city, but in this case he is an idiot.. did not originally see it in the Journal, interesting how this newspaper picked it up.

ah...sorry, but Brady has been a significant part of the reason the Pats have missed the SB the last two years. His pick in the Denver game totally changed the complexion of that game. Troy Brown bailed him out of another horrendous pick in the SD game (as did the Chargers DBs stone hands). Then, while the best QB in the NFL is moving his team up and down the field at will, even when he's getting sacked and knocked down, Brady, with LOTS OF TIME, cannot even get TDs on the Pats last two drives, cannot pick up FOUR yards on a third down and worse, throws a pick to end the game when there's a wide open receiver available. Brady's play was average this year (with sprinklings of poor throughout) and I'm glad that it's being recognised rather than the media trying to sell this nonsense that Brady is great because he has "three rings". I like Brady, but if the Pats had Bulger last Sunday, the Pats are in the SB and I would be able to watch sports programming.

If the Pats don't have Brady the past two years, they don't even get to play Denver and they don't even get to the AFC Championship game this year.

But screw all that. Save us Marc Bulger!!!

And the AFC QB going to this year's SB had how many picks in this year's playoffs? Thanks but, I'll take Brady on my team over any QB in the league.

Funny in this weeks pro football weekly their column read Brady`s
postseason magic runs out.
It blames the wide recievers not him.
In fact it says the pats should stop being so cheap and invest in their wr corps.
Chris Neubauer column

He hasn't lost anything,in fact he's only become stronger. It was no small feat getting this team together after all it's losses-and most especially on offense. Jabar Gaffney didn't get this offense together and neither did Josh McDaniels. Brady was the leader here. There are few if any QB's that can claim the same.

You and Jim, two fools in a pod. This is an INANE post. Go follow the rams.

I willtake Brady over Manning too, but look who's going to the Super Bowl, and do you know why? Because their offensive coordinator, Tom Moore, has been around for a long time, and he lets Manning run the show, to some degree, and he doesnt hold back and he doesnt get outcoached by opposing Defensive Coordinators, and he is, also, willing to make quick adjustments, and changes, when he sees that something isnt working, instead of beating it to death expecting a different result.

Yes, I would rather have Brady over Manning, as long as Brady isnt handcuffed like he has been the past two seasons.

I am amazed that more people, especially fans in here, are equating the last two seasons when we DIDNT get to the BIG SHOW with the fact that the offensie was being handcuffed by horrible play calling which destroyed us...especially in this game against the Colts when it was there for the taking, inthe second half, and we couldnt get into the EZ twice when we started drives in Colt territory because the play calling totally sucked. And belive me, it sucked..totally....

Eight points handed to the Colts by the officials, IMO, and eight points squandered by McDaniels, IMO...16 point swing.... game over, Super Bowl here we come... right?

i dont think brady is being handcuffed by mcdaniels. We have won 3 SB's because everyone does their job and doesnt do more than they are supposed to . Tom moore ran the offense last 6 yrs for the colts..how many SB's they won ?
i am all for the off coordinator taking all the responsibility instead of letting brady doing it all...
But i will agree on this .not specific to this game but in general...Mcdaniels isnt the same play caller under pressure as he is when things keep going well in the beginning. That 3rd and 4 play with 2 mins something remaining...they shouldve called some kinda run or screen or draw ..get 2 yards ..make indy use a time out and then go for it on 4th down and end the game ...instead he let brady throw and it was incomplete...
Mcdaniels never ran the ball in the 2nd half at least to give the D some rest. and put the game on brady too much to win....thats my 2 cents...

McDaniels was also somewhat handcuffed this season with an inconsistent Oline, a lead RB who is a shadow of his former self unless spelled for lengthy periods, a rookie RB who is explosive but tends to dance too much and wore down at the end of the season, not to mention Faulk went out early in the third quarter so there went the best option for draws and screens or even runs (Maroney had already coughed it up once on the day and both he and Corey were getting stuffed behind the LOS in the second half). NEM keeps quoting Brady from the post game but I never heard him question a play and he has the ability to change them at the line if he had concerns. I think what NEM is referring to is Brady was expecting Watson to curl out rather than sit in traffic based on the coverage, but as usual Ben didn't adjust in synch with his QB. I'll go look at the post game transcript but I'm betting I don't find any reference to wanting another play called.

Brady said, after the game, that he wanted to throw an out to Caldwell but the OC sent in the pass to Watson. End of Story, End of Game, End of Season. Thanks Josh.
Where did you see this? Link? Quote? Seems extremely un-Brady like if it were true.

I just re-listened to his post game and he never said anything remotely like that. He was asked about the last play and he said the receiver undercut Ben's route and he should have just thrown it away but he tried to force it because time was running out. He also said they had a great game plan they just struggled to execute it in the second half. Said they had too many little mistakes, penalties, can't be going backwards in the red zone, etc.

NEM must have heard that other statement telepathically when he read Tom's mind post game...

I don't read any of them anymore ... ever ... I learn most of what I need to know by watching the games and reading here. I love these threads about idiot writers ... one more article I didn't waste my time on.

The longer I read and posted here the more I realized ... the difference between many of us and them is that they have pretty good writing ability and access to the team ... except for a few of them, they know less about football than many posters right here.
