Shonn Greene gets hit hard by Brandon Spikes - YouTube

Ouch! Clean hit, too.

I cannot imagine too many running backs or slot receivers are looking forward to meeting up with Spikes, Mayo and Hightower.

This is a great trio of young linebackers, and when Ninkovich joins them in a 3-4, it's as good a group as the Mike Vrabel, Tedy Bruschi, Ted Johnson, Roman Phifer group back in 04-05.

I was surprised Spikes wasn't hurt on that hit. I had to laugh at ryan yelling at the ref that green was a defenseless receiver.

The comment on the video is "shoulder to helmet" when it looks like the initial contact was 100% shoulder to shoulder, then after that contact there was some side-of the helmet contact with Brandon's helmet as Shonn was crumbling to the turf.

we should do the "smash for cash" program.

football isn't ballet

we need hungry players to make the playoffs

thank goodness for spikes, mayo and hightower....its been a while since we had lb's like this....i cant exclude ninko.....love that dood

OT: wtf is up w/ mcdaniels....is he useless or what?

have brady call the shots and trade in lloyd and branch for a better reciever

You gotta love Spikes. The guy plays with heart and intensity.

Lloyd is a good receiver and him and Brady are still building chemistry. We've seen some good games from them, last night just happened to not be one of them. Branch is Branch, the 4th or 5th guy, he knows this is pretty much his last season in the league.

On the defense, this linebacker core is awesome. We just need to duplicate that in the secondary. Thats the issue.

I believe this is now the fourth RB Spikes has destroyed this season. Am I missing one anywhere?

Cox would have been proud.

Greene tried to come back, too. Spikes is really turning into a monster out there.

lloyd is very athletic but he needs to be more physical as a rec. and pick up speed...maybe more time in the weight room is what she needs

the secondary...yeah...no shizzle....check this old thread...

When it happened, I was worried about a Personal Foul against Spikes, but when the replay came, it looked like Greene did all the work, and Spikes just held his ground.

How does "building chemistry" help you catch passes that hit you right between the numbers?

The sad thing is Branch had a better game than Lloyd.

Spikes has had a couple of real nice hits this year where I thought he popped someone with his helmet, but the replay showed all shoulder pads. Very nice.

As good s that hit was, I was a bit disappointed in the run D overall yesterday.

How did this become a Lloyd thread?

OH d%#*!@t I just contributed to it.

need a healthy/stronger chung back to hit

he has the right attitude....he just needs to put on some slayer before a game or watch some polamalu/ed reed clips on youtube

id like to dedicate to our D.....

no pain ...no gain

You may or may not know that I was born and raised a Gator fan. This is the Spikes that I fondly remember from the depths of The Swamp. :D

Chung is TERRIBLE!!! too small to stop the run and no athletic enough or fast enough to defend the pass. He won't be back next yr.

This is the kind of play we need to make opposing offenses think twice about running on us without a care.

Spikes, Mayo, and Hightower can BRING it!
