-Jerod Mayo. Vintage Mayo game. Sideline to sideline. Stopped everything in his path. Came back from a stinger. Couldve tipped a pass that led toma TD, but hes at his best right now when it comes to stopping the run.

-Ninkovich. Making the most of his chances to rush the passer. Had a couple big plays in OT and ended the game.

-UDFA Justin Francis gettin some PT and looked decent

-Gronkowski.... The most unfortunate recipient of Mcdaniels coming back. Does Mcdaniels not see how automatic Gronk is??? I get the feeling Gronk isnt being used as he should be this year. Hes the best tight end in the league and unstoppable at times. He comes up big when you need him. 2 TDs and moved chains in crunch time

-Gostkowski. Redemption. I was thnking he might lose his job if he missed that FG to go into OT.

-Hightower is back and had a crucial sack late in the game. His instincts are great.

-Arrington and Dennard both had some nice stops against short passes. Dennard got his first career INT. A couple holding flags, but Dennards future is bright. Still cant stop deep passes though.

- Vereen finally getting some playing time.

- Mesko pinning the Jets deep numerous times.

-Spikes hit on Greene. Clean and hard.

I put Welker in this list. He is still a TOP WR... Even if its in the SLOT.

Nice thread, but I find dificult to take something positive out of Arrington and Dennard's performances.

Another big positive ..... Hill's drop. ;)

The defense isn't there yet, but some new guys are stepping up. Dennard has made a big push for playing time the past few weeks, Ninkovich is getting hot (half sack in the first three games, 3.5 sacks and 4 FF in the next 4). Looks like Dowling is on the right track too.

Honesty, we forced a safety and returned a kick for a touchdown. Brady threw 2 touchdowns and we beat a division rival in overtime. 8 years ago we'd all be thrilled.

I like to see that Francis is playing, but what does that say about Bequette? They both play the same position (big DE) but the UDFA is getting much more time than the 3rd rounder...

Rex Ryan's face at the end was kinda cool.

Bequette can still turn out to be a productive player, if he busts that's too bad but that is the nature of the beast. The draft class is already shaping up to be a good one, with or without him. As for the UDFA remarks, there are more UDFA players in the NFL than 2nd round picks.

Ill take a 5 yard holding pen over a 40 yard PI anyday. At least he's being physical/aggressive. I also like his attitude. At the end of a play, he's the only db that gets up like he meant to do what he just did. Everyone else just looks around for the inevitable flag.

There were some actual flashes of great work in the secondary by this Patriots team. They still have a long way to go, no doubt, but they had some nice stretches.

For a while in that game, the only offense the Jets could put together were check downs to Greene out of the backfield. It wasn't just Sanchez being a horrible QB, but there was actually nothing really open in the secondary. The key to this secondary is to keep improving week in and week out, and I saw some improvement at times this week.

Brady had to score points at the end of a game to win and the defense had to make a play at the end of the game to seal a win. 2 things that really have been lacking this year.

We got to do both....... and we beat a pesky division rival to take the lead in the divisional race to boot.

I'll take those as positives.

Divisional games can play out a little differently than the numbers suggest they "should" because of familiarity. Throw in the rivalry aspect and strange things happen. Look at Pittsburgh going into Cleveland and losing a couple of years ago.

Pats won, I'm thrilled. The rest is what it is.

Dennard was super smart to hold Hill on that play at the end. There was no one behind him. Rather than give the yards AND 1st down on a past interference or worse, a TD, he only gave up 5 yards. These are the kind of smart players we need on D.

Last week we were in a 4 way tie for the division.

This week, we lead it alone. We're 2-0 in the division and the Jets are now 2-1
