Ok, the loss hurt, and I thank the Lord I can put it all in perspective much better than I did these things in my youth.
After all, its just a game, and after all, the Patriots have won me 3 Super Bowls. And they are still a contender with a terrific young OL and DL, a great QB, and a great coach.

But the thought of that lingering Super Bowl bothered me. How can I enjoy THAT?

Then I realized, the one solace I got in 2003 after the Grady Little fiasco was being able to laugh at the Yankees then losing to Florida.

Ha Ha Ha And the pain did lessen a little as they suffered.

So, yes, it would be painful to watch Manning and the Colts in the Super Bowl and hearing about their greatness. And watching it as nuetral fan would be just annoying.

But then I thought, what if I latched myself around the team nobody gives a chance, the Bears, and their QB everyone thinks stinks?

Imagine the comfort and joy in the possibility of seeing the Bears beat the Colts, of watching Manning on the sidelines, sitting, head down, Jim Nantz and Phil Simms talking about "well, the monkey cant be off the back because they didnt win here"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA take that!!!!! Revenge!! Revenge!!!!!!!!!

well, thats the thought anyway. It worked a little in 2003. Although not as much as the Patriots winning that OT game in Miami.

Ok, I'll ask the Lord to help me work on that "revenge" thing. Its only a game.

But I will be rooting for the Bears ;)

Ha...Sports is really weird in that I also will feel much better if the Bears win.

My pain will be lessened as I watch Peyton suffer - as it was when Fla. rose up and conquered the Yankees.

I will feel pretty good seeing Polian lose out on yet another S/B Championship.

I cannot stand the thought of Peyton getting his ring, not so much because I don't like the guy and think he is a great QB - but moreso, the media will crown him the best ever - and that takes away from Tom Brady stature IMHO.

Colts players are actually pretty nice classy guys and their fans deserve a ring, they haven't had anything to cheer for since...Hoosiers, I guess - yet, I still hope they lose.

Sports....what a bizzare passion.

Go bearz

How can anyone outside of Indy like a Polien??? I mean he is a jerk big time...so DA BEARS!!!

Nah, let the Colts win it and become fat, dumb and happy like the Bucs and Steelers recently. Then, the Patriots can swoop back in and win a few more. :singing: And, do you really think the Bears have a chance?

Well said - even a lot of Colt fans are suspect of "NaPolian".

And the Colts will get more attention for losing the Super Bowl than the Patriots will for losing the AFC title game, the heat from the nationals will switch back to "Peyton STILL cant win the big one"

i decided i will not see alive the Super Bowl ( i will tape it and i will see the day after ) and i really do not care who will win

i have total indifference for it honestly

i would have loved a payback to the Chicago Bears - that's all

still sad and pity after 6 days...

I want the team that beat the Patriots to win it, and I want them to demolish the Bears, because then we won't have lost to the second best team in the NFL, we'll have lost to the best.

I also want the Colts to win the Super Bowl because that team is about to blow salary-wise, and certain players getting their Super Bowl ring could be the thing that puts them over the edge. Players will be looking for a payday, teams will be more interesting in overbidding, and next year, every team in the league will be gunning for them.

I won't be watching but, I'm really hoping the dome in Miami is very hot. Some of the Indy players caught the flu from the Pats. The stadium is packed with Bears fans. And the Bears win by a bogus PI call on Indy, a non-PI call on the Bears and ticky-tack roughing the passer call on Indy. That would be just perfect. :)

It might help to acknowledge that Polian is an agent of Satan.
