Rodney on WEEI

Great news.

I still think S is a huge position of need in the offseason. I don't want to see Harrison exploited like Bruschi next year.

Please tell us all how Tedy was exploited? I don't think either Tedy or Rodney are stupid people and no one can exploit them. But, maybe you can enlighten us.

Harrion should have been on the sideline during the Indy game. Somehow I feel like had he been there, the Pats would never have collapsed so completely on defense in the second half.

His wife just had a baby. I'm sure if BB would have told him that the team needed him to be there, he would have been.

How would the NFL not want another Brady vs. Manning matchup on primetime?

Yeah, primetime in midseason sounds right. Not the first week.

I love Rodney as a player, and he's a stand-up guy off the field too. Great news about his return:rocker: ,and imo he would have made a difference last Sunday. He and Junior both were very missed.

Does anyone see the irony in Harrison complaining about cheap shots? Have any mirrors in your house Rodney?

Gotta love Rodney. I have avoided listening to any player interviews or any Patriot related talk all since the game ended, but I'm glad I listened to this one. He just has so much passion for the game and faith that the Patriots will be back strong next year, it puts a smile on your face. I also like that he strongly disagreed with LT and stood up for Belichick.

I felt kind of bad for Peter King though. Why did they have him on with Rodney? What was the point of that?

King was running really late. His fault.

NFL teams universally do not bring players who do not have any hope of playing on road trips. The Eagles did not let McNabb travel in the playoffs with them.

The thought is that everyone on the team needs to focus on preparing and playing the game and that players not playing aren't going to do that.

Players on IR are not allowed to even travel, such as McNabb, per NFL. That would apply to Seau - not Harrison. Is it true that all teams subscribe to what you claim? I would think somone like an injured safety with 10+ years of experience may be a good extra coach against a team that, lets say, theoretically good put up 32 points in one half agains the leagues 2nd best scoring defense.

I'm not sure they planned on having Rodney on. They started the interview with King (which was only about a minute late) and then about a minute into the interview said "well we would never interupt peter king, except for Rodney Harrison" They acted surprised that he called in and basically acted like "hey peter you can stay if you want but we're talking to rodney"

Not to drag out a small point, but King was supposed to be on at the top of the previous hour. I was listening as Dale and Michael muddled through that delay. When they finally got King on, he was all apologies for running so late. Then Rodney called on schedule. So King had to suck it up.

Ohh I tuned in about 5 minutes before the interview. Peter King called in but had phone problems (holley kept thinking he was on a train to miami) A minute or so later they had it fixed......I thought that was the only delay, sorry!
