The Pats were in the red zone a ton vs. Seattle if they get there against the Jets I hope they run it up and go for 60!! Time to send the rest of the AFC and NFL a message. I hope Bill does not take his foot off the pedal and they just keep scoring at will. NO MERCY!

Its not running up the score if your defense cannot be trusted to not give up multiple 4th quarter TDs.

That's true. Run up the score if they can't score, but if you're just running up the score because your defense can't stop their offense...

...well, it's an empty win over a ****ty team.

at this point, I would rather see some stops by the defense in the 4th quarter along with a game winning drive.

with all the youth on this team, it is getting in the habit of buckling in tight situations

The below has nothing to do with the Seattle debacle, I have no idea what this ‘run up the score’ bu11$1t is.

This is a pro-spot. If you can’t compete, or face the fact that another team can run circles around yours, then get off the field.

What do people expect? For the Pats to keep punting the ball because they reached a high score differential? Take a knee?

And how is it always considered ‘running up the score’ when the Pats do it, or when Brady is left playing in the game till the last second (the latter could be considered a viable consideration)? Somehow, I didn’t see any of the pundits in the media this past week, b1tch and moan abbot Aaron Rodgers’ 6 TDs against the Texans, and the fact he played the full 60 minutes!

Like the OP said, I say (if possible of course), jam as many ***ing points as possible down the Jets’ throat. We need a message sent out – don’t piss us off!

If it's a hollow message it's meaningless. Sometimes it does more harm than good, including to this teams focus and psyche. It doesn't help you win the tough or closely contested games. Sometimes it sets you up to falsely believe you can or will, though.

Can't run up the score if your secondary is allowing the exchanging of TD for TD

A win is a win, if nobody gets hurt, whether it's

2-0,
59-0,
or
59-58

Two years ago a 45-3 win didn't help in the next game vs. them.

That particular day was sure fun though!

Who cares, just win.

If anything, it's annoying to have 3 blowout wins and losing 3 games by combined 4 points. Just adds to the frustration of how much better the team can be than its record.

Very true. I feel like close losses are alot more demoralizing to a team/fan base than a blowout and harder to get over. That loss seemed to motivate the Jets if anything. I wouldn't mind eeking out one like in the AFCC against Bmore, that would sting for a long time on them.

I really think talk about 'how angry' this team is...is simply juvenile talk

Its understandable if a team like the Colts goes all out emotionally and tries their best to win for their hospitalized head coach and pulls out the game compared to a team that is unable to finish half its games out and is 'angry' now

You can be as angry as you want.....you still have to play 60 minutes.

They actually met this criteria Sunday. Oddly enough two quick stops in the 4th didn't magically make the offense perform better and suddenly achieve it's normal points per drive efficiency, but instead gave the Seahawks enough attempts to actually mount a comeback.

Exactly. No lead is safe with our defense lately. Pats need to be up by at least 30 to feel comfortable heading into the 4th quarter. :p

Yeah that stuff is overrated IMO. They were also supposedly angry before SB42 when all the walkthrough tapes BS came out and everyone was belittling our accomplishments. I can't imagine how angry they could've been when the Jets talked trash all week leading up to the 2010 2nd round playoff game. How did the team perform in those games after being made so angry :bricks:

They were also 'angry' after their home opener was derailed by Kolb and the Cardinals....IIRC they lost the following week...why? by playing 45 Minutes instead of 60...

Were they only angry for 45 minutes and then happy and satisfied for the other 15?

Yeah, never quite understood the 'run up the score' argument. If you can't stop your opponent, that's YOUR PROBLEM, not mine.

We see it time and again (not just Pats) where one team builds a lead, the other team starts a comeback, and the original team has trouble going back into "score at will" mode from "don't turn it over and just kill the clock" mode.

I think we did a pretty good job a few weeks ago in Buffalo ;)

Well it certainly helps if the opposing quarterback is apparently colorblind and keeps throwing it to us.

Or maybe our secondary guys were so out of position he thought they must be Bills receivers? :D

I can see Pats winning by at least 3 TDs. No Holmes, No Revis and Jets relyin back to ground and pound with a ground and no pound one dimensional. Granted our secondary can make anyone look like Montana but I can't see Sanchez beating us. Go No-Huddle wind their D And Run Ridley & Woodhead down their throats and passin attack. Stop bein cute put this game away by half time.
