Watching Rodgers last night

lol, I was talking about watching a QB in his prime verse one whose on the other side of it. And as far as watching Rodgers against Seattle and Chitown, yeah it sucked since Rodgers is my QB in my money league but other than that, he's scored over 30 points in the other four games so I can't complain.

What I saw was a QB who could put the entire team on his back when push comes to shove just like Brady used to. Just made me think about those playoff runs of past years.

And that was the first time he's done that since the end of last season...

You're living proof that fantasy football has ruined an entire generation of fans.

Been a Pats fan since '78 ....was through all the bad times, namely the 1990-91 seasons under Rust and the Pete Carroll,Ron Meyer failed years...still proudly wore all my Pats hats and jackets during that time and rarely missed watching a game.

I still have my Authentic Tippett jersey which I bought when he was still playing,But unfortunately doesn't fit anymore since we all 'expand' a bit as we live on :).

I'll die that way as a fan when they suck, when they win,but hopefully not before the team wins a few more Super bowls ;)

No it's not. I'll grant you that you seem authentic. But, personally, I've always believed that a lot more of the homers (especially "raging" homers) are more apt to be bandwagon fans. Essentially, the premise is trouble admitting fault with the team because they began rooting for them due to the Patriots awesome-ness throughout this decade and would have trouble letting go once the team starts on the downward slope. Once it hits the fan, and it becomes apparent that the Pats are once again a long way off from competing (probably post-Brady), they (along with the bandwagoning Chicken Littles) will be the first to go.

We may disagree on this. What I see with the homers is a genuine appreciation. For me it's not just the wins, but the way this team does things. I always talk about the Patriots doing things the right way. I grew up a big baseball fan as well, played bball 3 games every day in the summers. Went to 5 postseason games in the 86 series. But once the Sox joined the Yanks and the mercenaries, I just never warmed up to them. Loved Papi but though Schilling was a gun for hire. Getting rid of Nomar was the right move, but that guy was the last of developing homegrown talent and winning with it. The reason I mention them is because even though they won, after a gazillion years, I couldn't enjoy it because the Sox way put a bad taste in my mouth.

This is what I appreciate mostly about Belichick. He simply does things right.

The Patriots are essentially one minute in the SB away in 2007 and 2011 from erasing all these memories of last second losses to the Colts and whomever. The big difference between that and pre-2005 is simply that. People tend to erase getting blanked by the Dolphins and Bills in those SB seasons, last second hail mary's from McNair to a WR that caught every miraculous catch and then somehow inexplicably dropped it, or even the improbable Raiders game and the immense luck of that game, and then think of Mushin Muhammad grabbing a hug TD and jumping ahead of the Patriots in the SB.

The truth is, even in the great years, the Patriots were this close to losing SBs. I mean, how good did the defense look giving up 30 points to the Panthers in 30 minutes?

I pay much more attention to the wins year after year, going to the Super Bowl multiple times. I know this will not be easy to repeat. I don't expect Rod Rust years, but we'll go through a few Pete Carroll eras.

Ya know, these QB comparisons don't really say much in the end. Packer fans will tell you that if they had 2 TEs like Gronk and Hernandez plus the OL pass protection that Brady's enjoyed all these years, that Rodgers would be unbelievable, etc, etc.

Brady on the Packers just wouldn't do as well, and Rodgers on the Pats would suffer the same. Problem is, when you say that everybody yells about a "system quarterback." Well every QB is a system quarterback--they adjust to their team and teams build around them.

Rodgers is probably the premier QB in the league...for now. Brees is very close behind and Brady is finishing out an unbelievable career. It may take 3 more seasons and Luck and Griffin III maturing before we see a new crop of truly elite QBs emerging.
I would like to see brees, rodgers manning and everyone else play with reche caldwell and jabbar gaffeny for an entire season and go to the championship game and then talk about brady having good offensive weapons. Yes they are a great offense now but look how much turnover they have had on the offense and brady has consistently changed with the scheme and delivered. Regarding the oline , yes it maybe better than most buts its brady who makes it look good. I think rodgers is a great QB as is brees but I havent seen them perform when they have scrub receivers and TE's around them -Not their fault but brady hasnt always had great receivers and TE's around him -after many failed drafts with graham and watson they finally hit on Gronk and hernandez .

^ That's been my argument since the overrat-ion of Rodgers and Brees started.

If Brady was being coached under the offensive genius, Sean Payton and those athletic receivers, averaging 50+ throws a game, breaking records, he'd unarguably the GOAT(though he still is to me.) If Brady were playing the same scrub defenses and teams, Rodgers has been playing all his career, Brady would unarguably be the most overrated QB and still the GOAT.

I was not at all impressed with Rodgers last night. I've been telling everyone that the Texans were overrated garbage, especially when they face average and better teams, they look awful. They should've lost to the Jets last week, but the Jets are good at killing themselves-- that's also been the case with our offense this year, but what the heck, right?

LOL, man. Yeah how did watching Rodgers in other weeks this year manke you feel?

Brady can't win. His performance against Denver last week makes fans long for other days, apparently.

And yesterday CBS showed that he last Seahawks win over the Patriots was when they beat QB Scott Secules.

Scott freakin' Secules!!!!!!!!!!

And people are negative here about all this small stuff!

Sorry PatsFans, but when this run is over (and it's not) I will not be hanging around here. I'll still be watching, rooting, going to the games, but I'm not going to watch the infestation.

thanks for pointing out the bolded part, so true...Aaron has sucked pretty hard this season

I was a little more envious of how aggressively they played being up 11 points in the 3rd qtr. 28-17. Pound into submission mode.

I'm not doubting Mr Brady cmon, it's the defense who wasn't able to hold the Giants on our last 2 SBs and umm need I say more of our secondary?

And that was the first time he's done that since the end of last season...

You're living proof that fantasy football has ruined an entire generation of fans.

and you basis for this is what? Or is the fact that you can't handle appreciation for another QB? And even though Rodgers scored 7 TDs in the previous two games so I guess by your definition, he hasn't done anything this season.

Sorry, didn't realize that this was a Jets forum were posters can't appreciate other talent other than those on the Patriots.

It was extremely reassuring to learn that Rodgers and the Packers bounced back to crush the Texans.

You think Brady would have anywhere near those numbers if he was sacked 8 times in the game. No f-n way.

brady got rid of the ball better. couple were intentional grounding...but rodgers held on to the ball forever in that game. just a bad game really.

I like brady as much as the next guy (pats fan), but lets not kid ourselves, brady WOULD NOT be able to do what rodgers does on the packers. The packers O-Line is atrocious, the receivers seem to drop easy catches almost every single game, and the running game is nowhere near as good the patriots running game at the moment.

Plug rodgers into the patriots, he does fine (don't know if he will perform as well as brady, but i am pretty sure it will be close), but brady will do much worse on the packers.

Just my opinion

^Agree. People on here that say Rodgers has all these weapons around him, like 3x more are still stuck on the Packers' 2010-11 SB season. Greg Jennings has been hurt and ineffective since the middle of last season. Finley can't hold a candle to Gronk, Hernandez or Graham. He drops balls constantly. Jordy Nelson is pretty decent, but he's no better than a dozen other WRs in this league. d

And Gronk, Hernandez and Wes Welker? Give me a break. Rodgers would love to have those guys to throw to behind that OL.

Rodgers hasn't had near the protection Brady has over the years. It doesn't matter how many elite WRs you have if you don't have time in the pocket.

To me, Brady is probably the best QB maybe ever in terms of his pocket presence. He knows where the pressure is coming from, he releases it quickly, he takes what defenses give him. Rodgers isn't quite as methodical as Brady, but he can do a lot of damage scrambling away from pressure.
