3 Losses by a total of 4 points.

Against teams that are a combined 13-5.

Have only 3 more true road games left this season.

It's a young team. Who would you rather be?

HOUSTON lost Cushing for the year and gave up 42 points at home to a visiting team that came in 2-3.

BALTIMORE lost Webb and Lewis for the season and survived TWO LAST MINUTE failings by the visiting Cowboys.

ATLANTA is a paper tiger 6-0 and was exceptionally lucky to squeak by the Oakland
FREAKING Raiders yesterday on a last second 55 yard FG.

SAN FRANCISCO got blown to smithereens on their own field yesterday.

Please, someone tell me what other team would you rather trade places with this morning?

i see where your going the pats will make the playoffs and could make a big run but i dont like to bring up the they only lost by so many points stuff a loss is a loss the pats only won 3 SB's by a total of 9 points i dont think that makes them any less of wins... but i do agree the pats will bonce back

Fair but I just worry that come the playoffs when the D needs a big stop they will not get it. I agree that the losses could easily have been wins but the naked eye tests tells me that our secondary needs to be revamped.

McCourty needs to go to safety and play with Wilson. Dowling, Arrington and Dennard need to be the CBs with Dennard and Dowling starting. Moore and Ebner can be the bench guys. Chung is done hopefully.

I really like our D line and LBs and the offense will only get better. Hopefully Bolden is OK and Vereen can come back too. Also crossing my fingers that Lloyd is good to go.

I think the AFC is winnable as Houston and Baltimore have significant holes due to injuries. But in the SB if we play NYG or Atlanta our secondary will get eviscerated. Imagine them trying to cover Gonzalez, Jones and White or Cruz, Hicks, Hixon and Bennett....ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The jets. I mean look at their HOF coach and QB. Best in the league!!:D

Good point though.

We are just fine.

Arrington was just brutal yesterday.

I agree with you about McCourty going to Safety - - he is an ELITE tackler (outside of the pathetic Pitta TD) and is just better with the play in front of him.

How much worse can it get than now if they try Ras I and Denard at CB?

If Slater is hurt, maybe slide Chung into being the ST ace?

Maybe...Chung is just awful. After watching the first game and seeing what Reed and Pollard are like I was envious! But I do like McCourty and Wilson at safety. Dennard and Dowling...call em double Ds at CB...look it cannot possibly get any worse. Also we need someone to help Jones from the right side. Maybe when Hightower comes back, IDK? It seems as though Jones gets pressures a lot but other than Ninko sometimes and maybe Wilfork no one else does. Where is Deaderick? Bequette?!?!? ANYONE!?!?!? Get some sacks! :)

I'd still say Houston and SF are in better shape than us right now. The only major loss is Cushing which I think can be made up for eventually. Most importantly those guys are in the DRIVER'S SEAT for a first round bye at the least, we do not control our own destiny there we'll need help and will have to win a vast majority of the remainder if not all. Most likely we are going to be playing on WC weekend and needing to win 4 straight games against the league's best instead of 3, which history has shown is still good chance of happening, but you're odds are better if you only have to win 3.

Atlanta I won't buy them until they at least win a playoff game. Pretenders until proven otherwise 3 straight one and dones. Baltimore would suffer a huge loss with Webb, has that been confirmed that he's done? And Bmore cannot stop the run, unless they have a miraculous turnaround on D like the '06 Colts they are going nowhere despite how good Flacco is playing. The Giants and Packers have a very very tough road ahead, be suprised if they manage a bye.

Patriots were 5-3 last year. Could happen again.

Could go on a roll after that and finish, say, 12-4.

Webb tore his ACL according to ESPN and Lewis his triceps.

Texans will lose Johnson eventually (all those that play Fantasy know its true).

;)

I'd still say Houston and SF are in better shape than us right now.

Both DEFENSIVE oriented teams that lost on their home fields giving up a combined 68 points to teams that came in a combined 6-6.

We're pissed off this morning.

They are searching their pockets.

Schaub & Foster usually miss a number of games too.

The Giants.

Hate to say it but NYG are probably the best team in the league

Why move McCourty to safety? He is the clearly the Pats' best CB (for better or worse). I would move Dowling to safety over him. He isn't playing as a CB and watching him in college, he has the skill set to be a very good safety.

Agreed but if Bradshaw and Nicks go down and both are very injury prone then its Atlanta or SF.

Because McCourty played there before and played well. He is a strong tackler and a good ball hawk WHEN HE TURNS HIS HEAD! As a safety he'd excel IMO. Dennard looks like the best CB to me and I don't care what anyone says, Edwards pushed off on his TD grab. Dowling is lanky and I want to give him a shot at CB.

Believe it or not, I like what I saw from Trevor Scott in the preseason. Ninko isn't bad at left end. Overall, I wouldn't touch the front seven. Definitely not before we sort out the secondary.

Compared to our secondary, our front 7 looks like the best 7 in the league right now

It's just one week. Do you know any defenses that go an entire season without a couple bad games?

One team is 5-1 the other is 4-2. And one plays in a division that may be weaker than ours. At this point we have nothing on either team. It'll be up to us to prove it later in the season.

Re: Perspective: I'll Take The Pats' Status This Morning Versus Any Other NFL Team'

I agree but I'd like some more pass rush on 3rd down. Bring a safety or CB blitz...do something to confuse the QB. Perhaps they don't have that type of personnel? Hightower should be back soon so that may help. I'll give the Pats this. They've been beastly vs. the run, just awesome!
