Belichick: Patriots Loss to Seahawks Was Just 'One of those Days'
By: Ian Logue

Sunday's loss to Seattle left Belichick with little answers for what seems to be a team full of questions recently....

slowly turning into one of those seasons

This "easy" schedule doesn't look so easy anymore. At 3-3 with 10 games left it's going to a struggle to get to even 10-6, which means 7-3 over the remaining games. Does anything from this team lead anyone to believe they're a club that can put together winning streak? At any rate to have any sniff of a bye week they need to finish at 10-0 or 9-1 - anyone see that happening? Yeah I know Baltimore has injuries, but so don't the Pats and Baltimore's defense isn't a sieve....

Well Bill....the team has had 'one of those days' for 3 of the 6 games so far.

One of those days where his clock management was losey at the end of the first half, and play calling turned conservative with good field position with 3 minutes to go in the game.

You could add forgetting to at least try and run the ball more.......58 throws by a QB usually spells LOSS more than WIN

A very misleading title, that makes it sound like BB is not assigning any blame to the loss, when in fact he is saying the usual:

We didn't make enough plays,

we need to play better,
the offense needs to be better,
the defense needs to be better,
special teams needs to be better,
and coaches need to coach better.

The defense has needed to play better for several years now....they must not be paying attention :bricks:

I'm sure BB is way more pissed off than any of us could ever be. BUT, he's smart enough to not lose his cool in front of the press. Hopefully, behind closed doors, he's beating the **** out of the team.

Like June 26, 1876 was just one of those days for Custer at the Battle of The Bighorn.

I guarantee BB is rip$hit, they wonr let another game that they should win slip away again this year, this is why hes the best coach in the league.

if i hadn't thought the same thing after the Cardinals game and then after the Ravens game, I would feel better about that.

i'm going to remain optimistic. Belichick and Brady will turn this around.

Thinking the same thing. If he would've been saying that no one was to blame, I was gonna suggest he get out of coaching.

I didn't think they ran against Seattle very well. They weren't getting into great 2nd/3rd down yardage on the ground. And what was that crucial series with 3 straight runs going nowhere? I'm not complainin' about it, mind you... tough game, blown opportunities everywhere.

For a guy who preaches situational football I hope he figures out they award points for field goals and being up by 10 heading into the locker room at the half is preferable to leaving 3 points on the field because you wanted to squeeze 7 out of 6 seconds with no TO's remaining or margin for error because you already ballaxed time management in the waning seconds of the half.

Probably because Seattle is tough but more likely because as Josh stated today they didn't game plan to run all week, it was passing game all the way because the safety in the box apparently concerned them more than the sizeable corners. Then when the passing game hit some bumps and they needed to move the ball on the ground to close Seattle out they couldn't. Because it's not just a switch you flip. If you only run when it's easy to you can't really expect to be able to run when you have to.

Couldn't understand why with so little time on the clock (which was another one of BB miscues yesterday) he didn't take the three points, its not like seattle is some offensive jugernaught. In the end it would have won the game.

Yes, but Mr. Belichick....with all due respect...IT SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ONE OF THOSE DAYS!!!! If you and your coaches had made SMARTER decisions during this game, worked the clock better, and TAKEN THE POINTS That were sitting on the table to be taken....WE wouldn't be having this conversation!!!!!!! SO much of this had to do with coaching....the other areas are Brady making dumb a## decisions that killed drives or led to TO's.....or, Sorry Bill back to you.....players in our secondary that SHOULD BE working at Home Depot right now (You need a paint stirrer with that?) and not starting for the best NFL franchise in the history of the game!!!!!

It wasn't just one of those days Bill. The coaches crapped the bed being too cute and the team followed suit.

That's what I said after the AZ game, then after Baltimore. This is beginning to look like 2002. A fatally flawed defense and post Superbowl hangover. May be looking at the same record as that team.
