This spring the Pats have the 24th and 28th pick in the first round of the draft. A lot of discussion has been had about the Pats needs. For reference sake here is the 24ht-32nd picks for the last 4 years. Granted every year is different. Some years the talent is deep and some years it is not. This is just a look back at what has been available

Going by that list, they probably shouldn't draft a wide receiver.

If they don't re-sign AS or franchise tag him, and do not sign a Nate Clements, I would be shocked if they don't pick the best available CB at 24.... But then, I was expecting them to take Manny Lawson at 21 last year so what do I know?

That said, I would think a CB at either 24 or 28 would be in the works....:cool:

Wide receiver is deep ... also Belichick will not pay 1st round money for a WR. We'll find one in round 3 or 4 I believe because Chad Jackson and Gaffney can be the 1-2 or 2-1 with no problem.

chad jackson a 1or2 he couldnt make 5 this year,now thats a strech, he reminds me of bethel jackson more and more

I know. When was the last time a WR had a solid career after not doing much as a rookie. It has never happened. NEVER HAPPENED, YOU HEAR!?

{Steve Smith}

I can't hear you!

{Chad Johnson}

LA LAL LLAL LA AL AL LA LA LA L ALLA LA LA!

{Hines Ward}

***sticks fingers in ears*** LA LALALALALALAALLALLALLALALA!

We gotta give him at elast another year, but I understand what your saying.

You're kidding, right?

I've knocked BB and Pioli for some of their drafting but seeing these lists point out clearly how well the Pats have avoided first round busts. Too many of the names shown have had minimal impact and it just kills the teams that drafted them. Recognizing BB and Pioli's first round success makes me pretty excited about what they may pull out of our two picks this year. You just have to believe a CB will be one of them...right?

add reggie wayne, laverneus coles, javon walker, plexiglass burress and im sure many more to that list

i couldve included donald driver
but i only wanted to include guys that were picked in at least the first three rounds

no love for reche...
Chad frustrated the **** outta me this year though i mean he was supposed to be a big part of an offense that needed a deep threat and he didnt come through...hopefully he and brady will start throwing together, maybe he'll take a few pointers from troy in the 'working hard' portion of the position.. i didnt exactly hear that he was busting his ass...

:rofl: dont do that you'll go blind!:nono:
Besides, the last Jackson I almost creamed my jeans over was Janet!;)

im not kidiing the kid is imature heard from numerous sources, if he grows up ya maybe a 2 but until that you cant assume that and think that going in next year

Jeeze how old are you guys???????????????????? Do you remember Terry Glenn....great out of the box but injuries???????etc?????? How has he done since he left the Pats?????? Let's give CJ another year and maybe two!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, she seems to be doing fine nowadays, though the Tuna just left her. Oh, that reminds me I gotta go get some groceries, its my night to make the dinner!

Seriously, even if the kid does turn into something good, its probably not going to happen fast enough to help this team. He turns really good in 3 years and he's gone. Personally I dont want to develop another team's star reciever..again. Best we can hope for is a Gaffney type of performance throughout his first contract so we can extend and then get more out of him. Fact of life in the new NFL.

Man. It was known CJ would need at least a year to become more polished. PLUS he had a nagging hamstring injury all year. Give him some time and he will improve.

"Supposed to be"?? Where are you getting that? Seriously, I didn't hear a single member of the Patriot's coaching staff say that Jackson was expected to be a significant contributor this year.
