Most interesting. Someone go after him? Maybe the cesspool in NJ?

27K a week...what i would give for that...lol

An additional receiver in the pantry for those post Welker days ahead.

That will be Danny Amendola.

First guess for who tried getting Salas is the Rats followed by the Bills and then Cleveland, any of those team needs WR help and the Browns have got players from the Pats PS before.

Indeed. They certainly have the motive. Need help at receiver badly, could maybe get w/e info Salas has picked up in his short time here, and they'd be snagging a prospect from their big brother, whom they are obsessed with.

I don't see anyway we could pry Amendola from Bradford's clutches.

Those two are developing the kind of Peyton/Harrison, Brady/Branch/Welker bonds that are vital to QB development.

why does everyone think we will automatically get amendola? becasue i don't see it.

FA end of the year, as is Jackson and a few defensive players and with only 1 franchise tag, do they let Jackson or Amendola hit free agency? That's if they can't get either locked up before then, of course.

Jackson has already said this is his last year in St louis. He opted out of his contact after this year and St Louis knows this..so jackson is gone next year. So amendola won't have to hit free agency

I was under the impression that practice squad guys are available to any team that wants them. No?

yes, but only if the player agrees...hence w/ a bigger salary more incentive for said player to stay on said team w/ PS (side note: any team can take them so long as they put them on the active roster AND players agrees)

They can reject the offer I believe.

Didn't know that, back on the give Welker an extension bandwagon then!

No doubt, it's always good to look forward to getting substantially worse.

Yeah thats how it works. Its not like a PS player is a permanent waiver player. At times they do reject offers from other teams. My speculation on it was that another team came and offered him a 1 year contract for the minimum. He came back to New England and they said they would match it plus give him an extra dollar for good measure just as long as he remained on the PS. If I had to venture a guess I would say it was the Jets since they have such problem at WR plus with the NE game coming up it gives them more incentive, but it could be anyone and NE just wanted to keep him. He was already being paid above the minimum for a practice squad guy so clearly they wanted him around.

Thanks for that, just lol'ed. I know we joke about it, but man it's gonna be a real bummer if we see him catching balls in a different uniform.

Amendola might be available, if only because St. Louis will consider him too injury-prone, which of course he is. I'd still take him, and maybe the Rams will want to keep the guy around, but I don't think it's out of the question that he comes here. That said, I still think it's possible Wes and the Patriots will see a re-up as being mutually beneficial -- hope they can find a middle ground.

Nmind, just saw Amendola is out 6 weeks. He was on pace for a huge year otherwise.

Wonder what his value will be.

Yeah, we want to keep him on the PS but this raise does not mean anything for projection. Did we not do the same with Markell and then cut him this offseason?
I think this is rather to definitely prevent the Jets from signing him
