IMO during our playoff run I would say the Colts fans were a bit more classier before the game than the Chargers fans...I did not see widespread major bashing by the Indy fans on our site or elsewhere so at least if thier team is hated by us,which they are, at least they had some fans who gave us a little more respect,Definately IMO Indy had a classier bunch before the game than SD fans did.

Part of it is the midwestern fan base mentality and part of it is the fact that their team has been in the thick of the hunt for several years now and only unable to get over the playoff hump (mostly because of us and one other team who plays defense like us). It's like old money vs. new money, SD fans are bandwaggon punks who suddenly emerged with some big name talent they are enamored of regardless of character and they mistook that for really arriving in the NFL before they paid their dues. The Colts fans know they have paid their dues and then some. And because of their recent history and crushing disappointments I think they are enjoying the moment rather than wasting time chest thumping because in part subconsciously they are hoping something doesn't go horribly wrong in 10 days.

No question. There were hardly any Colts fans here in the first place. Maybe it has to do with the only popular Chargers forum being the one hosted by www.chargers.com which is of course the official website of the SD Chargers. That forum is a propaganda machine with 10,000,000 little keyboard soldiers. After we beat them they banned all Pats fans even if they played nice. Meanwhile Colts fans are more like us... they're spread out onto three or four independent, third party forums.

Good take. Chargers fans are the worst I've seen, including Steelers fans, and that's saying a lot.

By far the best Chargers Forum on the net. And BTW, i came here before and after the game and couldn't get any of you to respond to any of my posts. And i was just trying to talk some football. You guys were more interested in talking to the Charger trolls. We have our share of them, just like you guys do and every other team does.

There have been a few decent Chargers fans, but then there's guys like Ryan, Colts fans who have been here forever and are true class.

Thank you, most of us Indy fans definatly respect the Pats and there fans considering how the Pats have always seemed to know how to beat us in huge playoff games, this game could have went either way im just glad it finally went our way for once...we have lots of Pats fans on our board year round (indystar.com) and about 75% of them are really good fans that offer alot to our board, we have some idiots but you get that from every team, im sure you have a few Colts fans here that are the same way..

and btw i looked at your posting history. you made 1 post before the game, at the end of a thread that had run its course. you made another on page 10 of a thread most of us presumably never bothered to read that far. your only other two posts were about LT's whining after the game, which many people got sick of or may not have read in the first place.

at no point did you say anything really thought-provoking or noteworthy. yes you were gracious. what did you want, a thread devoted to us thanking you for gracing us with your presence? you should have started one; you always get a few saps willing to engage in the -"thank you for being so respectful. i respect your team." "no, i respect your team"- stuff.

basically, you can't make 4 posts and expect us to embrace you. you then can't toss that back at us for improper board etiquette.

Thanks for the props and back at you. I think its a mutual respect-- Lord knows we have been on the other end of your 'dynasty' run. I think the comment about the Charger fan's being punks and not paid their dues is dead on.

Do you follow the Pacers? We had to finally get past the NY Knicks after them beating us in the Playoffs almost every year, we kind of "grew up" against the knicks and finally got to the Finals, although I hope we don't have the same results as we did against the Lakers in the Finals..:D thats what this reminds me of, we had to finally get past the team that always beats us in the playoffs....im just hoping for better results then the Pacers had..

edit to add im talking about the pacers from 2000, right now the Pacers pretty well suck

Yes, great example of this parity window I think is closing. The Pats have made it to the mountain top 3 of 4 years---- thats dynasty level play. This is our shot.. with the way things look we may not get another shot for a few years.

I was simply trying to point out that not all of us came here to talk smak. but thanks for your "classy" response.

Anyway, good luck next year. I will go ahead and remove this site from my favorites.

As I said before the game they had nothing to brag about and they thought they'd lose that game. But, as I also said, they'd be here to gloat should the Colts pull it out and they did exactly as expected. Having said that San Diego fans are the worst since the Donk fans last year.

Good luck to you, too. And you have already experienced one "benefit" to success: loss of your OC to a head coaching job. Expect to be raided if you remian competitive.

I expected to win and I didn't come here to gloat, I don't know about anybody else I didn't come here until now to let things settle down because there is nothing worse then the opposing teams fans coming and rubbing your face in a big loss, trust me we used to have tons of Pats fans do that to us on Indystar.com and I know how I felt so I told myself I wouldn't do it...

Interesting comment in that you expected to win. Enlighten us and explain how you felt that way considering the recent playoff history between the two teams.

And please don't start by saying "It was Mannings time", "He was due", etc, because he played like ass up until the final drive of the first half.....

Because im a Colts fan and we were playing at home, do you really blame any Colts fans for actually thinking they had a chance to win? I agree with you about Manning playing ass up until the final drive of the first half, I thought the game was over..

don't get me wrong I knew the game would be anything but a cakewalk, I knew it was going to be a very difficult game, BB is the Best coach in the NFL and Brady is probably the best QB in the NFL right now...

The best QB in the NFL is playing on the AFC side of the Super Bowl.
