Finally had a chance to get an upclose look at the new jerseys that Nike is putting out, have to say I don't like them. I don't like the way they're made they look and feel cheap. At least with the Reebok jerseys even the replica jerseys felt like a game jersey. This is one unsatisfied fan that will not be shelling out the money for a new jersey any time soon.

I don't know how they are for fans, but just with respect to the players on TV they are downright awful.

The discoloration that results as the absorbant "sweat boxes" get darker...

The see-through effect when they get seat-soaked...

Yepp.

I realize the whole point was to make the athletes move around better, but seeing big sweaty linemen ass simply isn't what I came to see. You'd think those ding bats would design the jersey to absorb moisture better. In terms of fans wearing them, they're the worst. They remind me more of the cheap NFL jerseys walmart tries to sell with a little bit more spruced up design and a nike logo on them. I agree that fans could rock the reebok jerseys and get away with it. The nike jerseys, absolutely not.

He is going Comando!

I have a Nike Elite Brady and the jersey is a lot nicer than my reebok one. I dont think one friend or family member who has seen it in person hasnt liked it.

What's up with all these Proline jerseys that just hit NFLshop.com they are mostly of "less popular" players

damn you people for multi quoting that picture of the lion's ass.

damn you nike for see through pants!

This is the nfls answer to Lingerie league.

Really guys? Really?

Kinda regretting now not buying a reebok Brady replica jersey. I got a Maroney one for Christmas years ago :bricks:

I'll not be buying one regardless. I hate Nike and refuse to buy or wear anything with their logo on it. I've been this way long before they got the NFL deal, FWIW. These jerseys, however, do elevate the level of suckage quite a bit.

And it's true. They DO remind me of the WalMart stuff in both texture and appearance.

Could you elaborate a bit on what you like about it?

Is the "elite" the middle of the road one with the stitched on letters/numbers?

How about the sizing of the jerseys? How are they different compared to the Reebok ones? I have a feeling that they are smaller, tighter, and more form-fitting.

I am someone who can't wear the form fitting clothes that Abercrombie/Fitch etc are trying to push down people's throats. Not due to my being fat (I'm 5'10" and 170 lbs), but because I just don't think anything is comfortable enough. I like to be able to move my arms and chest a bit, and alot of these "form fitting" or "muscle" clothes that people are making prevent that, even when I try a 2XL. Not to mention that they really don't fit at all. The clothes that are form-fitting just look small and uncomfortable.

Do you think that the new Nike jerseys need to be upped a size, if you were used to the Reebok ones? If I normally bought an XL with Reebok, would I know need a 2XL with Nike? That's what it appears to me, but I haven't seen them up close yet. Guess I need to get out more ;)

i bought one of the NIKE low end jerseys a few months ago (not the elite). I sent it right back. you couldn't move your arms at all. The reebok jerseys are much better.

Thanks bud. That's what I figured. That sucks.

lol

My Mom bought me a shirt from there. I normally wear an XL since I'm 6'4" 210.

I laughed hysterically when I put it on.

And I don't even have "muscles" in the normal sense at 5'10" and 170 lbs.

I couldn't imagine you trying to wear that stuff when you are actually big. Banana Republic is slightly better, but not by much.

It sucks that the jerseys are more snug like that too, I'm going to have to go to a sporting goods store soon and check them out myself.

I just want one nice jersey, my last one was the Corey Dillon throwback in the 2004 season so I'm long overdue, lol.

The Elite ones are the top of the line ones. Honestly I would never pay $250 for a jersey, but I know someone who works for Nike and they can get me the jerseys for $80 so I bit on a new one. I can upload pictures of me wearing an authentic reebok gronk jersey and an authentic nike brady jersey if you would like. The jersey fits fine to me honestly, and just the other night I had people over and they all liked the Nike style over the reebok style, as the Reeboks are a bit baggier. The jersey is a bit slimmer, but not by much. People have complained about the sleeves that when you lift your arms the jersey lifts as well. My take on that is the jersey lifts up like 2 inches so if someone is making a big deal about that, then who knows what will make them happy.

At the end of the day though, it is a jersey not a nice button up. My advice for you would be go to a store and just try one on and see if you like it. I know they have the ones that are $135 with stitched numbers etc but I have never seen one or tried one on. Have never seen the cheapest ones either, but I am not a fan of screen print for any jersey so I would never buy one of those. I wear the Reebok jerseys and the Nike one and I don't really have any complaints with either of them.

I have one of the $135 ones and I like it, for the most part, better than the Reebok ones. It is a tighter fit but I don't really mind it, the sleeves do bother me to a degree but I'm getting used to it. Overall the material feels better and the jersey itself seems better put together than the Reeboks.

Jerseys must have been introduced to Goodell by George Constanza.
