Levin: Tom Brady proves once again why he is the BEST....

that sums it up nicely.

10 full seasons of play
5 Superbowl appearances

Find me another QB who has a 50% chance to make the Superbowl each year.

I have to disagree. The ultimate gauge of how good a QB is not by the # of superbowl appearances or wins. Remember, every Patriots superbowl team had a very good, if not great defense.

You can insert Peyton Manning into a completely different team, and they will still have a potent passing attack (as you're seeing in Denver). I'm not quite sure you can say the same thing about Brady.

LOL, on many levels.

Well, glad that's settled.

Personally, I think it's an impossible argument. It goes back to the ol' "Well, I guess Terry Bradshaw is better than Brady" arguments...

You can make a valid argument for either guy, at the end of the day no one that cares enough to have the discussion is impartial enough to give an unbiased opinion on the matter. Personally I tired of this discussion a long time ago, even more so because I have to deal with Saints fans on a daily basis that love to argue about Drew Brees as if I actually give a crap.

Have fun attempting to explain how you arrived at that conclusion. Have you paid attention to their respective careers at all?

Because Brady has never played with an entirely different cast on offense?

Or for example had his #1 receiver traded away during the season and had to play with a cast of rookie TEs, a mini-WR coming off ACL surgery, and another small WR with minimal success outside of NE, and a running game consisting of 2 UDFAs one of whom was picked up during the season? Only to throw for 36TD-4ints.

A pretty lame conclusion - and thankfully - one we have not seen play out, and hopefully will not.

Your Manning vs Brady argument is completely baseless, impossible to prove and well, just stupid.

And how about last year? Carrying last years 31st ranked defense to the Super Bowl shoots holes in your bull**** theory of every SB team had a very good to great defense, doesn't it?

Regardless of what you think about Brady vs. Manning in the annals of history, this game was really a microcosm of their careers. Manning puts up the bigger numbers, but Brady wins the game.

That is my unbiased opinion. And yes, I've paid attention to their careers.

I've even heard (even from Patriots fans) that Tom is a system QB (exhibit A: Matt Cassel). Also, answer this: If Bledsoe doesn't go down in that game vs the Jets earlier that year, and with the team they had that year, would the Pats have won the superbowl with Bledsoe at the helm? IMO, yes.

Actually, I thought the Pats defense was underrated last year. And you can't simply go by yards allowed per game (as these rankings do). They were better than what their 31st ranking indicated. The Pats defense showed up big in the playoffs. You can't deny that.

This Board has a long tradition of welcoming intelligent Opposition Posters who don't get in people's faces until they've convinced folks here that they know what they're talking about and can advocate for their team in a useful, polite and compelling manner.

Rehashing a tired argument that is now only voiced by underachieving players and coaches of other teams...and of course, their jealous fans...is going to get you exactly nowhere here. I don't think you'll find anyone taking your comments seriously enough to refute them (other than to point out obvious facts like the Pats had the 31st ranked Defense last year when Brady somehow lucked his way into his...um...fifth Super Bowl).

So as a fan of a team that has been around for 36 seasons (just 16 fewer than the Pats), has an overall record of 277--306 and has managed to make it to just one Super Bowl, you're going to have to take a different tone if you expect people not to view you as just one more green-with-envy fan from another team, who is out here to spout off before the Pats come to town; believe me, we get dozens of them every year despite Ian's best efforts to keep them out.

Why don't you start out by telling us some positive things about your team, other than that it's owned by a guy with deep pockets, plays in a nice stadium in a great city and has a respectable HC?

So, if you want to keep Ian's finger off his "Banned" button, I suggest that you state the case FOR your team and keep the negative stuff to yourself until you've convinced some of us that you know what you're talking about and are someone with whom it is worth debating. Until then, you're just one more troll.

That is not "entirely" different. Same coach, same team, same system, etc. Just like Manning had a different cast on offense over the years -- and yet consistently put up good numbers every year.

This logic would be great if you ignore the facts, but when you don't then you realize how stupid it is: The difference between the 2007 and 2008 team was just Tom Brady. So Tom Brady makes a difference of 7 more wins, a Superbowl appearance, and 29 more touchdowns.

And how exactly is that logical? The year before with the same group of people Bledsoe led that team to the worst record in the NFL. You seem pretty delusional, buddy.

Yup you're definitely delusional with an agenda to degrade Brady's accomplishments in anyway possible. Thanks for the laughs.

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with "my" team. If you want to discuss them, I suggest you go to that thread. There's plenty of discussion in it.

If you view unbiased objective opinion on a player as trolling or trash talking, then I can't help you. I am keeping my dialogue civil and respectful, and unless you're a mod (which you obviously aren't), then I will respectfully ask you to back off.

Just the use of the term "system quarterback" along with "Tom" ( Brady) indicates to me that anyone making that claim either 1) doesn't know much about pro football or 2) is trolling. Whichever one you pick is OK with me. In fact on second thought, both might apply here.

Oh, dear God, stop talking.

The Pats wouldn't have come close to the playoffs, let alone the SB, with Bledsoe. Please take a moment and tell me more about "the team they had that year." I'll spot you that dominant RB Antowain Smith.

The "system QB" argument should have been ruled a capital offense by now.
