Cry me a river: Denver fans feel BB insulted Broncos by going for it on 4th down

Re: Cry me a river.

It's kind of funny because no matter how many times different people point out that there were very legitimate reasons to go for it on 4th down, he refuses to acknowledge or discuss any of those reasons ... and then just keeps repeating himself, insisting that there was no valid reason to attempt to go for a first down.

He says he started the thread to have a discussion, but to anybody who disagrees with his viewpoint it's as if he's covering his ears and shouting out 'I can't hear you, I can't hear you'...

On top of that, he is quick to point out that he is personally not upset with the call and that anyone who makes that assumption is incorrect. Meanwhile, he assumes that the Broncos coaches must be insulted by the call based on nothing more than his opinion of it.

Going for it on 4th down was moronic, but it was far more insulting to the Patriots and their fans than it was to the Broncos. The Broncos fans should be thankful for the gift.

What do you expect from a fanbase who calls the Patriots cheaters for spygate after their own team got caught for the same thing in 2009?

Actually, they were caught taping another team's practice, something the Patriots did not do.

How they got a slap on the wrist for that from the league and a pass from the media is a mystery.

That drunk hick wearing a barrel thats in the background of their website is exactly what I picture when I think of a Broncos fan.

McDaniels shut it down when he heard about it, refused to see the videos. He knew what it would have been like from being here during our controversy. For some reason Denver fans blame Josh for it though, when he was the one that stopped it.

Yes. There were a number of level headed replies, but the OP just wouldn't let it go. Here he is insulting the entire Pats nation while moaning about being insulted. :confused2:
Lucky I'm 9,000 miles away so I can't angrily shake my fists at the OP then. :p

Personally, I didn't like the Patriots going for it, but hey, it happens. The Pats won so the Broncos can whistle dixie as far as I'm concerned.

I prefer to stay alive rather than camp out at a bush watering hole as a ghost my friend.

yeah...good point...heh...but as Ray Ray 19 says "you can all whistle gypsy" (true post)...

I find it funny that our organization is the only target for these kind of things. Our organization is always blasted by other fans as "classless, arrogant, running up the score, etc."

The organization, players, and fans don't care what they think. Our motto is winning and thats what we do. We aren't here to play flag football and cry when things don't go our way. Bill and the organization is all about business. Its really nothing personal about what we do.

pretty much. i remember reading a thread somewhere calling the pats classes for running up the score on the bills (i think they were talking about the kaepernick slide against the jets and said the pats wouldve been classless and run it up like they did against the bills). then the 49ers put up 45 on the bills and they thought nothing of it...completely justified.

I hate Denver.

I seriously hate that team and can't stand their fans.
They hire Manning who whored himself out like a mercenary and all of a sudden Bronco fans attach themselves to the Colts legacy like a parasite.

They're a desperate fan base with no pride in their own identity.
I really just loathe that whole football team.

Those idiots are actually saying that Manning out played Brady lol.

Brady masterfully engineers a blitzkrieg no huddle that torches them, but because Manning throws 200 yards in garbage time he "out played Brady."

I hope we meet that ridiculous team again in the post season with all out injured players back and healthy. I think the Brady/Belichick era needs to crush Peyton at least one more time.

Seriously??

One of the best Football minds ever to coach in the NFL, ably assisted by a great OC and one of the greatest ever QBs decide to go for it on 4th and 5 in no mans land.

The call is backed by a lot of people on this board (who appear to be intelligent football folk in my opinion) and yet you call it 'moronic' and 'mind numbingly stupid'.

Maybe its time to look in the mirror and realise you might be the bilnkered stupid person. Its a reasonable debate to have regarding the call, as there are valid reasons on both sides of the debate, but for you in your typical arrogent way to call it 'moronic' and 'mind numbingly stupid' is insulting to probably about half the decent fans on this board.

BB was trying to kill the game! I am sure Fox would do the same if he thought about it and was in that position!

Don't bother. When his mind is made up there is no arguing it. Just nod and walk away.

it wasn't insulting, it was just a dumb dumb call, that would be getting 100% lambasted on this forum if it wasn't called by BB

The nasty ol' BB and the Pats insulted us.. Yea by sqeaking out a win. Give me a break. What, are they becoming the Bills? Most insulting play in recent memory?

Read the whole thread. The OP just picked a provocative thread title. Most posters saw it as a sign of respect for Manning, which it was. Belichick saw a tire defense and had flashbacks to 4th and 2. He wanted to ice the game and not put the ball back in Manning's hands.

based on stats, peyton did outplay brady

ne had 251 rushing yards to denver's 70

that was the game right there

The result and play-calling beg to differ.
