Not to sound like a homer but can anyone name a team with more talent at RB?

Ridley (23yrs old) - 4th in NFL in rushing
Bolden (22yrs old) - 206yds, 5.6ypc
Vereen (23yrs old) - 1st career TD today and showed well in opportunities.
Woodhead (27yrs old)- Excellent 3rd down back and situational runner.

Off the top of my head i think you could make arguments for

New Orleans
Carolina
Vikings
Kansas City
New York Giants
Buffalo
San Fransisco
Houston Texans

I'll take Foster and Tate over all 4 of those guys seven days a week

......and I do Love watching Ridley,so that's saying something.....

Let's not even include Vereen as anything special yet

Pretty much what he said. Tate would be a starter on most teams. Arian Foster is as lethal as an RB could get. Currently though, our RB corps is fantastic and adds depth to our high-powered offense. So excited that we actually have a legit running game. Been missing that ever since the dynasty era when we had Corey.

Even if all of these teams have more/better RB talent, that still puts us in the top 10. With this passing offense added to the mix, things get downright nasty for opposing teams. It was fun to watch at the game today!

I would rather have Tate and Foster than all of of those guys

I'll remain a homer and take our 4 over Foster and Tate. Also over the 400 trillion dollars that Foster costs.

Should we start casting Ridley's bust for Canton? ;)

In past years, sure. Right now, it's pretty heavily the Pats' favor, though:
Ridley: 4.8 YPC
Bolden: 5.6

Tate: 3.9
Foster: 3.7

I'm not sure I would take Tate and foster, I'll wait a couple of weeks to see how it all plays out

Clear or Ahead
Houston
San Francisco

Comparable
Carolina (pre Cam Newton I'm a TD whore days)
Kansas City
Buffalo
New York Giants

The Pats running game has been a welcome and pleasant surprise in 2012. I am hopeful the young backs keep this form.

Pats are what you call a quality middle tier running team....to call them elite at this stage is going way overboard

I think Ridley has a decent chance of being a top 10 rb in this league. He reminds me of a blend of Ricky Watters and MJD. We'll have to wait and see if durability is an issue. But after Ridley there is a HUGE dropoff

Bolden is a bit of a wildcard---it's hard to figure out if he's really good or he just has insanely awesome blocking in front of him on his runs---his running style doesn't really impress me.

Woodhead experiment should be over IMO

Vereen...cmon

The Patriots are currently ranked 3rd in the NFL averaging 165 yards per game. Top 3-5 is close to, if not considered elite.

And for the record, your intimation toward Woodhead makes no sense whatsoever given his sterling performances picking up key first downs the past two weeks.

Woodhead had some keys runs today. If you get rid of him who do you replace him with? I think he stays.

Ridley is good, but not great yet. If he gets 100 yards at Seattle (2nd in run defense), THEN I'll call him great.

The Pats have 27 runs of 10+ yards by their RBs right now. I'm pretty sure that leads the league. In the 13 games Pro Football Reference has charted from last season, the Pats had a total of 34. The Packers through 5 games have two.

great is measured in seasons...unfortunately in the sound byte generation, everything needs to be immediate..if he rushes for 50 yards next week he'll be called a bust, yet if he goes on to five consecutive 1000 seasons he'll prove to be a great Patriot running back...and there will still be fans who think he saucks because he had a below average game here and there.

Anyone that says they would rather have Tate and Foster over our 4 guys is on Bath salts . Arian Foster has been great the last 4 or 5 years. Tate is WAY overrated by you guys. Our guys have youth and many less carries. The life of a running back in the NFL is roughly equal that of a doughnut in Rosie O'donnells line of sight.
